Every MCU Movie and Series of 2025, Ranked

2026 promises to be a landmark year for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The biggest event will be Avengers: Doomsday, which could become one of the highest-grossing films ever. A major draw is Robert Downey Jr.’s appearance as the villain, Doctor Doom – his popularity is undeniable, and he’ll be joined by at least two other original Avengers cast members. However, Doomsday will face stiff competition from Spider-Man: Brand New Day, a film that will unite Spider-Man, Hulk, and Punisher on screen.

With so much excitement building for Marvel’s 2026 releases, it’s easy to overlook how strong 2025 has been for the franchise. While not everything was a hit, the successful projects really stood out. Here’s a ranking of all the Marvel movies and series that came out in 2025.

8) Captain America: Brave New World

In Captain America: Brave New World, Sam Wilson gets his chance to shine as a solo hero, and he delivers. However, the movie feels too connected to The Incredible Hulk, largely revolving around the ongoing conflict between Thunderbolt Ross and Samuel Sterns (The Leader). While it’s fun to revisit those characters, their story overshadows Captain America’s own. Luckily, the film excels when it comes to action sequences.

7) Daredevil: Born Again

For the past couple of years, both Matt Murdock’s Daredevil and his main enemy, Wilson Fisk, have appeared in various Marvel projects. Now, Daredevil: Born Again gives them the focus they deserve. However, the show went through significant changes during production, which unfortunately results in an inconsistent tone throughout. It’s not until the final four episodes, when Daredevil is fully suited up and fighting crime, that the series truly finds its footing. If the entire show had maintained that level of quality, it would have been much better.

6) Marvel Zombies

Marvel Studios’ animated series often struggle to feel important because they don’t have a big impact on the overall Marvel Cinematic Universe storyline. But Marvel Zombies understands what fans want – lots of action, blood, and gore – and delivers exactly that. Although it can be difficult to fully connect with the characters since they’re alternate versions who can die at any time, the show is short and sweet with just four episodes. Ultimately, it’s one of the most low-stakes projects Marvel has ever produced.

5) Eyes of Wakanda

While Marvel Zombies had its challenges, Eyes of Wakanda faces even more, given its anthology format—each episode presents a brand new story. These episodes center around different characters from Wakanda as they venture out to find vibranium. The show might not sound groundbreaking at first, but the basic idea doesn’t fully capture its quality. Eyes of Wakanda boasts stunning animation and some of the most exciting action sequences seen in animated shows lately. It’s unfortunate that a second season is unlikely to be made.

4) Ironheart

No Marvel project faced more challenges than Ironheart. It received an unusual release schedule and wasn’t expected to succeed. However, Ironheart surprises everyone by letting its main character stumble and learn, while telling a fresh story that blends magic and technology. Plus, the show finally introduces Mephisto to the MCU, a character fans have been eagerly anticipating for years.

3) The Fantastic Four: First Steps

Following Disney’s acquisition of Fox, fans have been eager to see Marvel’s plans for the X-Men. However, Marvel decided to introduce the Fantastic Four first, with the 2025 film The Fantastic Four: First Steps. The cast is a major highlight of the movie, with each actor delivering a strong performance. Vanessa Kirby particularly shines, bringing depth and emotion to her character as the heart of the story. While First Steps wasn’t a blockbuster hit, it’s a solid and enjoyable addition to the Fantastic Four series.

2) Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man

The first Marvel Cinematic Universe project of 2025 was the animated series Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. This show isn’t about the Spider-Man we’ve seen with Tom Holland; instead, it’s set in a different universe (Earth-86445) where Peter Parker quickly becomes a hero after getting bitten by a radioactive spider. Although it might seem like it’s just packed with cameos, the show actually tells a surprisingly heartfelt story about the power of friendship. A second season is already planned, but it will be a challenge to top the first one.

1) Thunderbolts*

Bringing together supporting characters from across the Marvel Cinematic Universe could have easily gone wrong, but Thunderbolts actually pulls it off. The film makes its characters confront their personal struggles and learn to rely on each other. While Florence Pugh and Lewis Pullman deliver standout performances, the whole cast is excellent. Thunderbolts also boasts the strongest ending of any MCU film slated for 2025, as the team discovers they’re on the verge of becoming something much bigger than just a group of ex-mercenaries.
