As a seasoned gamer and Marvel fan with over two decades of comic book-inspired adventures under my belt, I can hardly contain my excitement for the upcoming film, Thunderbolts*. The fact that Julia Louis-Dreyfus is joining the ranks as Valentina Allegra de Fontaine only adds fuel to the fire. Her recent behind-the-scenes glimpse into Mars (or was it just a well-crafted green screen?) has me wondering if Marvel Studios is planning an intergalactic expansion of their cinematic universe.
In just under a year, the premiere of the highly anticipated Marvel Cinematic Universe film titled “Thunderbolts*” is nearly upon us. Boasting an impressive lineup of famous actors from various corners of the MCU, this movie features Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, a character whose schemes have significantly affected several of the team’s antiheroes. In a recent post on her social media platform, Dreyfus offered a sneak peek behind the scenes of “Thunderbolts*” on their desert set, playfully suggesting that Marvel Studios may have transported the cast and crew to Mars to execute their grand narrative.
In the video, Dreyfus says, “I’m currently on the set of Thunderbolts, but I can’t reveal too many details. However, this is one of my costumes for the film. Here’s a sneak peek – Marvel didn’t have the budget for green screen, so instead, they flew us all to Mars! Look at this stunning Martian landscape. Can you believe it? Filming here is intense, and the low oxygen levels are making it hard for me to breathe. I won’t keep you long as we might be running out of air. But I’m incredibly excited for this movie to release, and I can’t wait for you to see it. Let me just say, the journey back home is going to be a long one – about 300 days, but being part of a Marvel project makes it all worthwhile. So, that’s it from Mars!”
