Often called one of the most unusual manga ever made, Dorohedoro tells the story of a world filled with magic and features a main character with a lizard’s head. The first anime adaptation concluded in 2020 after twelve episodes. Now, in exciting news for fans, Studio MAPPA is bringing the story back for a second season! Even better, the original creator, Q Hayashida, is involved, writing a brand new one-shot chapter to celebrate. This new chapter will be published in Shogakukan in Japan on April 11th.

Universal Extending Theatrical Release Windows

Starting in 2026 with the movie Reminders of Him, Universal Pictures will release all of its films in theaters for at least five weeks, according to The New York Times. Their 2026 lineup includes films like The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, a new Christopher Nolan film called The Odyssey, Steven Spielberg’s Disclosure Day, Minions and Mayhem, Fockers-in-Law, and Violent Night 2. In 2027, Universal will increase that theatrical window to seven weeks. This change doesn’t affect Focus Features, a part of Universal that releases different kinds of films, such as Hamnet, Bugonia, and Song Sung Blues.

It’s become a real streaming powerhouse, consistently earning amazing scores – we’re talking 90% on Rotten Tomatoes across three seasons! – and always shooting to the top of the Nielsen charts whenever a new season drops. But honestly, the wait between seasons has been frustrating. Season three wrapped up in March of 2025, and we hadn’t heard anything about a renewal for ages.
