Todd Chrisley’s Son Kyle Arrested for Assault, Public Intoxication

Kyle Chrisley has encountered trouble with the law.

According to court records obtained by USA Today, the son of Todd Chrisley and Teresa Terry was arrested in Tennessee on December 20th. He’s facing several charges, including domestic assault, being drunk in public, causing a disturbance, attacking a first responder, and resisting police.

After being arrested, the 34-year-old, who was on the first season of Chrisley Knows Best and later had a falling out with his father, was taken to the Rutherford County jail, according to reports.

TopMob News has contacted both the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office and a representative for the Chrisley family, but hasn’t received a response yet.

Kyle has a history of legal trouble. In March 2023, he was arrested for assault in Smyrna, Tennessee, after a fight with his supervisor at work. Police reports stated he reportedly showed a knife during the altercation. However, the case was later closed in April 2024, according to court records.

Even though Kyle isn’t close to his family, he was thrilled to hear that Todd, 56, and his wife Julie Chrisley, 52, received pardons in their tax fraud case earlier this year. He believes his sister, Savannah Chrisley, deserves credit for working hard to get the couple released.

He told TopMob News in May that he knew Savannah had been dedicated to this for a long time and hadn’t given up. He also expressed that she and the others were eager to return home to their families and he hoped they could find a way to resolve things.

Savannah, age 28, has previously supported her father’s choice to create space between himself and his son.

Savannah Chrisley explained in a July 2024 podcast that her father is justified in not speaking to Kyle. She emphasized that being a parent doesn’t obligate someone to tolerate abusive, manipulative, or hateful behavior from their child.

Todd Chrisley is the head of the Chrisley family. Born in Georgia in April 1969 and raised in South Carolina, he has five children. His first daughter, Lindsie, and son, Kyle, were born during his marriage to Teresa Terry, which ended after a few years. In 1996, he married Julie Chrisley (born in South Carolina in January 1973), and together they had three more children: Chase, Savannah, and Grayson. They also adopted Kyle’s daughter, Chloe. The family faced challenges, including Julie’s battle with and recovery from breast cancer in 2012.

Before becoming known for reality television, Todd built a successful real estate business, which he stated provided the vast majority of the family’s income. Julie was working at a bank when she and Todd began dating. The family’s life was chronicled on the show Chrisley Knows Best, which ran from 2014 to 2023 and spawned spin-offs like Growing Up Chrisley and What’s Cooking With Julie?, as well as various podcasts.

In 2022, Todd and Julie were convicted of fraud and tax crimes and initially sentenced to 12 and 7 years in prison, respectively. They maintained their innocence. However, in May 2025, President Donald Trump pardoned them, leading to their release from prison.

Lindsie Todd, born in September 1989, is the oldest child of Todd and Teresa. She went to Georgia State University, where she met and later married Will Campbell in 2012. That December, she graduated and had their son, Jackson. Two years later, the reality show Chrisley Knows Best debuted, featuring Lindsie and Will. The show highlighted the tension in their marriage, and they divorced in 2016, with Lindsie leaving the show in 2017.

Following the divorce, Lindsie became estranged from her family, and it wasn’t until 2022 that she publicly reconciled with Todd, Julie, and Savannah on their respective podcasts. Todd later admitted on Chrisley Confessions that while the estrangement was unexpected, it was ultimately necessary.

However, the reunion didn’t last. By March 2025, Lindsie revealed on her podcast, The Southern Tea, that she hadn’t seen her father in a while, and the following month, she confirmed she was also estranged from her siblings. She explained on Cate & Ty Break It Down that they simply weren’t currently serving positive roles in each other’s lives, despite a lack of animosity.

After Julie and Todd received pardons in May 2025, Lindsie posted a hopeful message on Instagram, stating, “With God all things are possible.”

Kyle, born in August 1991, is Todd’s oldest son from his marriage to Teresa. He became a father to Chloe in November 2012 with his ex-partner, Angela Johnson, but Todd and Julie later adopted her in 2016.

Kyle only appeared on the first season of Chrisley Knows Best (with a quick appearance in 2021), but his previous arrests and complicated relationship with his family – which included periods of estrangement and reconciliation – often made news. He has openly discussed his struggles with mental health and addiction, announcing on Facebook in 2019 that he was sober.

In 2021, Kyle married Ashley Nelson and became a stepfather to her children, Haiden and Mackenzie.

He hopes to rebuild his relationship with Todd and Julie after they finish their prison sentences. He told TopMob News in May 2025, “I know they can’t wait to get home and just be with family, and I’m going to remain hopeful that another reconciliation is possible.”

Chase Chrisley, born in June 1996, is the oldest child of Todd and Julie Chrisley. He’s known for appearing on the reality shows Chrisley Knows Best and Growing Up Chrisley alongside his family, particularly his sister Savannah from 2019 to 2022.

Chase was previously engaged to Emmy Medders, but they broke up in 2023 after a period of on-again, off-again dating. Later that year, he began dating Jodi Laine Fournerat, and frequently shares photos of her and his grandmother, Nanny Faye Chrisley, on Instagram.

Following his parents’ imprisonment, Chase spoke about how the experience brought him and his siblings closer together. He told Extra in 2023, “We’ve definitely gotten a lot closer… we clung together and we’re still fighting.”

In January 2025, Chase was arrested in Atlanta on a simple battery charge after allegedly becoming intoxicated and slapping a bar manager, according to police reports. His lawyers stated to People that the incident was exaggerated and that he did not assault anyone, adding they were investigating the situation independently.

Beyond television, Chase is also an entrepreneur, having launched both a candle brand and a roofing company.

Savannah Chrisley was born to Todd and Julie Chrisley in August 1997. She began her career competing in pageants, winning Miss Tennessee Teen USA in 2016. She then gained further recognition appearing on reality shows like Chrisley Knows Best and Growing Up Chrisley, as well as competition shows like The Masked Singer and Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test. Beyond television, Savannah works as a real estate agent in Tennessee, founded Good Girl RX, and hosts the Unlocked podcast.

Savannah became engaged to hockey player Nic Kerdiles in 2019, but they separated in 2020. Tragically, Kerdiles died in a motorcycle accident in 2023. She later dated Robert Shiver, but they ended their relationship in April 2025 after two years together.

While her parents were incarcerated, Savannah took legal custody of her siblings, Grayson and Chloe, and actively campaigned for their release. At the 2024 Republican National Convention, she emotionally shared that the numbers 72600019 and 72601019 represent her parents’ inmate identification numbers.

Following a pardon from Donald Trump, Todd and Julie were released from prison, and Savannah shared heartwarming footage of their return home.

Grayson is the youngest child of Todd and Julie Chrisley. He became known to the public when the show Chrisley Knows Best first aired in 2014, just eight years after he was born in May 2006. Today, he’s a student at the University of Alabama, where he’s often recognized by fellow students.

He described the attention he receives on campus as “insane” in a February 2025 interview on Savannah’s podcast, Unlocked, noting it was more than he’d ever experienced before.

When Todd and Julie went to prison, their daughter Savannah gained legal custody of Grayson and her sister Chloe.

Savannah has spoken openly about the challenges and rewards of stepping into a parental role, emphasizing that while she isn’t their mother or father, she’s dedicated to loving and guiding them. She shared on Instagram in July 2023 that being a “bonus parent” is incredibly difficult, but also the most fulfilling job she’ll ever have.

Over time, Savannah and Grayson developed a particularly strong bond.

On his 18th birthday in May 2024, Savannah wrote on Instagram that while many people believe she saved him, he actually saved her.

Chloe initially came into Todd and Julie Chrisley’s lives as their granddaughter, born in November 2012 to their son Kyle and his former partner Angela Johnson. They later formally adopted her in 2016.

Julie often expressed her joy about Chloe, sharing on Instagram in 2018 how much happiness the child brought to their family. Fans followed their journey raising Chloe—known as CoCo within the family—on the reality show Chrisley Knows Best. However, when Todd and Julie were incarcerated, their daughter Savannah stepped in to become Chloe’s guardian.

On Chloe’s 11th birthday in November 2023, Savannah posted a heartfelt message on Instagram, praising Chloe’s vibrant personality and the positive impact she has on everyone around her. She expressed her admiration for Chloe’s humor, spirit, and kind heart.

Following the announcement of Todd and Julie’s pardon by President Trump, Savannah shared that Chloe was cautiously optimistic, worried something might still go wrong. Savannah also expressed her excitement about reuniting Chloe with her father and bringing him home.

Faye Chrisley, affectionately known as “Nanny,” is the mother of Todd Chrisley. He publicly expressed his deep love and gratitude for her on Mother’s Day 2021, sharing how she fills his life with love, hope, and faith.

Born in South Carolina in September 1944, Nanny married army veteran Gene Chrisley and together they had three sons: Todd, Randy, and Derrick. Sadly, Derrick passed away as a baby, and Gene died in 2012.

Nanny became a fan favorite on the show Chrisley Knows Best thanks to her lively personality, fun interactions with her sister Frances (who passed away in 2022), her dating life, and her wise advice. She always showed viewers how to enjoy life, whether she was at the casino, enjoying a glass of wine, or spending time with family.

Despite facing challenges – including her son Todd and daughter-in-law Julie’s legal issues – Nanny remained resilient. She bravely battled bladder cancer after being diagnosed in 2021 and announced in 2023 that she was in remission, continuing to live life to the fullest.

Nanny’s philosophy is simple: make the best of whatever life throws your way. As she shared on a podcast, “The world don’t always give you a good deck of cards to play with, so you play with them the best you can. You get up, brush yourself off and keep going.”
