Reminder: Astro Bot Has the Best Christmas Level on PS5 and It Isn’t Close

Want a fun, festive game to play on your PS5 during the holidays? We think the Christmas level you unlock after finishing Astro Bot is perfect!

After finishing the main game, you’ll unlock a new level called Winter Wonder, and it’s a wonderfully festive and heartwarming experience, especially if you’re playing on PS5.

As you enter the stage, Santa’s sleigh appears beside you, guiding you toward a charming gingerbread village blanketed in snow. When you arrive, a cheerful burst of jingle bells fills the air.

There are seven unique robots, called Special Bots, hidden throughout the level. You can rescue them by completing puzzles and thoroughly exploring every area.

Normal enemies are sporting reindeer antlers, and lots of robot animals are happily dancing to the music and enjoying the holiday spirit. It’s extra cheerful and fun, even for Astro Bot, making it a wonderful Christmas environment to play around in and soak up the festive mood.

Winter Wonder is remarkable not only for its beautiful holiday atmosphere, but also because it’s considered one of the very best levels in the game.

Okay, so most of the levels in Astro Bot are pretty straightforward – you basically follow the path. But this bonus level? It’s totally different! It’s way more open, letting you explore everywhere, and it actually makes you use all the cool power-ups you’ve collected, not just a couple of your favorites. It’s a really fun change of pace.

This level offers a welcome break from the usual gameplay, and you’ll likely find yourself spending a lot more time exploring it than the simpler ones.

Okay, so in Winter Wonder, you can’t actually finish the event until you hunt down most of the 15 hidden golden presents. Finding each one lights up a bulb on this huge Christmas tree, and it’s totally worth it! They give you Special Bots, and a bunch of cool festive stuff like new outfits for my Astro and skins for my Dual Speeder. Seriously, gotta find those presents!

To locate these items, you’ll need to thoroughly explore every area of the level and overcome the smaller obstacles within it. Each power-up is guarded by its own unique challenge, whether it’s a puzzle, a tricky jump, or a short platforming section.

This level is fantastic because it cleverly uses everything Astro can do. It really highlights the game’s creative ideas and design, packing all the best elements into a single, amazing stage.

I was really blown away by some of the power-ups! Getting to shrink down with the mouse one and explore this miniature gingerbread town was so cool, and using the metal ball to slide down the chimney into a comfy living room was just brilliant. It’s such a neat touch!

Wow, Team Asobi really knocked it out of the park with the Winter Wonder level! It’s like the ultimate Christmas playground, and honestly, I hope they build more levels like it in future Astro games. It feels so open and encourages you to just explore – it’s a really exciting direction for the series!
