Will Transformers One End Up Getting A Sequel?

Transformers One Reveals New Action Trailer

Before the first Transformers movie was even conceived, whispers of a trilogy for this animated series were already circulating. At San Diego Comic-Con, I had the opportunity to sit down with producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura. During our conversation, he opened up about his previous statements and provided some much-needed clarity. Despite what may have been suggested in the past, it seems those plans for a trilogy might still be alive and kicking for the future.

The information has been slightly misrepresented. What was stated is that the trilogy is referred to as “natural” because there is a strong understanding of how the two main characters will develop. This understanding, in turn, gives us insights into what might be the most crucial points in both the second and third films, if we’re fortunate enough to produce them. Hence, it maintains a character-focused approach, which is why it was called “natural.”

“So far, the responses have been incredibly positive, making me optimistic about moving forward to the next project. Unlike previous ones, this one doesn’t involve human characters, which allows for more complex and detailed robot personas. As a result, it can be accurately described as a character-driven adventure movie. We plan to continue in this vein with future projects, assuming we can see it through.”
