IO Interactive has pushed back the release of their new James Bond game, 007 First Light, from March 27, 2026, to May 27, 2026. Players will be able to experience the game on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store.
Here is the full message from IO Interactive on the delay:
Hello everyone,
Hey everyone, just wanted to let you know about a quick update on 007 First Light. We’ve made the call to push the release date back a couple of months – we’re now aiming for May 27, 2026. We want to make sure it’s absolutely polished and ready for you all, so we figured a little extra time would be best!
With 007 First Light, we’re aiming to create the ultimate James Bond experience – packed with thrilling action, exotic locations, clever spy tools, fast cars, and everything fans expect. As a small, independent studio, choosing to focus solely on delivering a high-quality game from the start is the best way to make sure you all have an unforgettable time.
The game is now completely playable from start to finish, and we’re using the extra two months to make it even better before release. We want to ensure players have the best possible experience with 007 First Light, and we believe this extra time will help the game succeed in the long run. Thank you for your patience and support since we first announced the game. We’ll have more news about 007 First Light in early 2026.
Thank you again for your support,
IO Interactive
