As a seasoned Overwatch 2 player with countless hours under my belt, I can’t help but feel a surge of excitement as Season 12 approaches! The new mode, Clash, has piqued my interest more than Juno, the Support hero (though she does look promising).
Overwatch 2’s Season 12 is almost here, and among its exciting features, Juno, the latest Support hero, and Clash, a new core game mode, are generating much interest. Unlike Push, which was introduced earlier, Clash pits two teams against each other on a map divided into five zones. Scoring a zone capture earns a point, and the first team to reach five points wins the match.
In a recently released Developer Update, the developer shares details about modifications to Clash, which was tested during Season 10. The capture duration and decay rates across all zones have been enhanced, while capture speeds are now fine-tuned based on the number of teammates engaged in an active objective – either one, two, or three.
In certain areas, there are longer wait times for enemies to appear, reducing the frequency of PTSD-triggering reminders of Assault’s earlier days. A notable improvement is the division of the final capture zone into three parts, mirroring the structure of Escort and Hybrid modes. Each part is worth a single point, allowing you to conclude the match by capturing all three sections.
At its launch, Clash will feature two maps: Hanaoka and Throne of Anubis. Keep an eye out for further updates, which will include balance modifications.
