Daredevil: Born Again Season 3 To Debut a New Character in 2027

Fans and Marvel Studios both want more Daredevil, and that’s exactly what’s planned. After listening to overwhelming demand, Marvel is continuing the Daredevil story with Daredevil: Born Again, about a decade after the original series aired on Netflix. The new series is already exceeding expectations and is proving to be incredibly well-received.

The show has been picked up for another season on Disney+, expected in March 2026. Work has even begun on a third season, currently planned for release in March 2027. The series will continue to be a part of Phase 6 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which will be led by films like Avengers: Doomsday, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and Avengers: Secret Wars.

Here’s some exciting news: Nexus Point News reports that the show’s creators are casting a new main character for Season 3. Marvel Studios is looking for actors in their twenties of any ethnicity to play a character currently known as “Phillip.” He’s described as a clever, resourceful New Yorker who’s kind and charming, but also has a hidden, angry side.

That information doesn’t really help us figure out who the actor might be, except that it probably won’t be a veteran Hollywood star. Otherwise, anyone could be playing the part.

Season 2 of Daredevil Gets a New Character, Too

Information about the upcoming Daredevil: Born Again season is starting to emerge, and we now know a key character will be introduced before Season 3. That character is Mr. Charles, played by Matthew Lillard (known for Scream 7 and Five Nights at Freddy’s). According to Marvel TV and animation head Brad Winderbaum, this addition will significantly change the landscape of Hell’s Kitchen and the fight for New York.

As a fan, I’m really fascinated by how this story explores power dynamics. It’s not just about Daredevil fighting bad guys; it’s about what happens when someone like Wilson Fisk truly takes control – not just as mayor, but as a major global player. Matthew Lillard’s character is a fantastic addition because he operates on that same level of influence, almost as powerful as Fisk himself! It’s so interesting to see him navigating these high-stakes political games, dealing with both Mr. Charles and Daredevil, and getting caught in the middle of everything. He’s definitely feeling the pressure from both sides!

This will likely bring Mr. Charles into conflict with Daredevil, potentially pushing both him and Fisk to reconsider their broken truce—even though Daredevil recently saved Fisk’s life from an attack by Bullseye. It’s encouraging to see Disney and Marvel Studios building a long-term plan with Charlie Cox, Vincent D’Onofrio, and other returning actors like Deborah Ann Woll (as Karen) and Elden Henson (as Foggy), starting with Season 2 and continuing beyond.
