Russell Brand’s legal woes continue.
The comedian, who previously faced multiple rape and sexual assault charges and has denied any wrongdoing, is now facing even more accusations after two additional women came forward with claims against him.
On December 23rd, London’s Metropolitan Police announced that actor Russell Brand has been charged with one additional count of rape and one count of sexual assault, relating to two women. He is scheduled to appear in court to address these charges on January 20, 2026.
In a video posted on X (formerly Twitter) on December 23rd, the actor known for Get Him to the Greek – who has three children with his wife, Laura Brand – didn’t directly comment on the issue. However, he asked viewers to “understand the truth of my situation and what’s happening.”
In the video, he prayed for healing for anyone he may have hurt through his past mistakes and asked that the truth about who he really is be made clear.
TopMob News has reached out to Brand’s rep for comment but has not heard back.
In April, actor Russell Brand, known for his role in Forgetting Sarah Marshall, was formally accused of rape, oral rape, two counts of sexual assault, and indecent assault. These charges relate to incidents alleged to have occurred between 1999 and 2005. The police investigation began in September 2023, prompted by reports from Channel 4 and The Sunday Times, which led to multiple allegations being brought to their attention, according to a police statement released in April.

Brand quickly responded to the allegations on social media, posting a video on X where he stated, “I struggled with drug and sex addiction and made foolish mistakes, but I never committed rape.”
A month after the initial accusations, Brand entered a plea of not guilty to all five charges. The judge agreed to continue his release on bail under the existing conditions, and a trial date is scheduled for June.
