Toys for Bob, the game development studio, has been a subject of much interest lately, and fans are closely following any hints about what they’re working on next.
A recent discovery on LinkedIn hints that a new Spyro game is currently in development.
Following the development of Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time and Crash Team Rumble, Toys for Bob began working on games within the Call of Duty franchise. The studio later announced it was becoming independent, though it suggested it might continue collaborating with Microsoft in the future.
A former senior concept artist at Toys for Bob recently updated their LinkedIn profile, confirming they worked on the “Spyro” franchise between August 2022 and March 2024.
The discussion starts with the release dates of these games. Spyro: Reignited Trilogy came out before this person joined Toys for Bob, and Crash Team Rumble was released in June 2023.
The game received a lot of new content after it launched, including a playable Spyro character. However, all of this content came out before the artist left the company, indicating they were likely still working on the Spyro project during their last few months there.
Okay, so this is a bit of a deep dive, but a lot of us fans are getting really excited because we think it hints at a new Spyro game! I can totally see why – the clues seem pretty convincing. But honestly, we’ve been let down by little things like this before, so I’m trying not to get too hyped just in case it doesn’t pan out. It’s hard to stay cautious when you really want something, though!
What are your thoughts? Does this LinkedIn post suggest Toys for Bob is working on another Spyro game? Let us know in the comments!
