10 Best Ongoing Manga Of 2025

2025 was a fantastic year for manga. Although overall sales weren’t record-breaking, the quality of new releases was exceptional, giving both longtime fans and newcomers a lot to enjoy.

Manga in 2025 is consistently excellent, with both long-running series and newer titles delivering fantastic stories. Several ongoing series stand out as particularly strong, and we hope they maintain this high quality for many years to come.

10) Tower Dungeon

In Tsutomu Nihei’s Tower Dungeon, Yuva and his companions pressed onward through the dragon tower, getting closer to the necromancer than anyone before. Along the way, they uncovered shocking truths about Yuva’s identity and his link to the princess, completely altering the purpose of their journey.

Though it’s only been running for two years, Tower Dungeon has quickly become a standout series, with consistently excellent worldbuilding and characters. The story seems to be approaching its conclusion, and it’s shaping up to be a fantastic finish.

9) Zatch Bell! 2

In the second volume of Makoto Raiku’s Zatch Bell!, Zatch and Kiyomaro reunited with Barry and Ponygon in a heartwarming and exciting encounter. They then came across two of Belial’s followers who were attempting to abandon him and live peacefully. However, Belial wouldn’t let them go, forcing Zatch and Kiyomaro to fight to ensure their safe escape.

The return of Barry and Ponygon delivered exactly what fans hoped for – plenty of excitement and emotional depth. While the later part of Zatch Bell! 2‘s 2025 season wasn’t quite as impactful, the new characters, particularly Jillnoz, brought a lot of energy to the story. Zatch Bell! 2 remains a fantastic sequel and shows no signs of losing momentum.

8) Dandadan

In Yukinobu Tatsu’s Dandadan, Momo returned to her normal size, but strangely, she lost all her memories of Okarun and everything that had happened between them. Despite this, Okarun decided he would try to make Momo fall in love with him again, all while Count Saint-Germain secretly continued his plans.

Some fans haven’t been happy with the recent amnesia storyline in Dandadan, but it’s actually been a good thing. It’s allowed Okarun to step up and show more confidence, which has led to some really sweet interactions with the other main character. Plus, the art and action are still fantastic, making Dandadan consistently enjoyable.

7) Gachiakuta

In Kei Urana’s Gachiakuta, after Follo finally evolves into a Giver, Rudo and his friends head to the Doll Festival hoping to find the Choker Maker. Instead, they’re thrown into a huge fight with Mymo, the seemingly harmless news reporter who’s secretly been planning to control the Pit.

Follo’s story arc had a satisfying conclusion, and the following Doll Festival arc has been incredibly engaging. It’s filled with exciting action, features the heartbreaking character of Gountess, and showcases just how awful Mymo truly is. The Doll Festival arc is quickly becoming the best story arc in Gachiakuta, and we hope it continues to be strong through its planned completion in 2026.

6) Record of Ragnarok

The latest battles in Shinya Umemura, Takumi Fukui, and Azychika’s Record of Ragnarok – featuring Simo Hayha against Loki and Sakata Kintoki versus Odin – followed Okita Souji’s fight with Susanoo and revealed more details about Odin’s plan to free Yggdrasil and the Primordial Gods.

The recent episodes of Record of Ragnarok have been some of the most exciting yet, and the series is now exploring its overarching storyline. This arc promises to be full of shocking revelations. While Record of Ragnarok may be approaching its conclusion, it still has plenty of unexpected twists and turns to come.

5) Blue Lock

The Neo Egoist League in Blue Lock, created by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and Yusuke Nomura, concluded with Isagi emerging as the top player after Bastard Munchen defeated PXG. This victory marked the beginning of the World Cup arc, where, despite significant progress, the players realized they still had a long way to go to reach the pinnacle of success.

The Neo Egoist League finished with a fantastic result – a huge win for Isagi and a tough loss for Nagi. Now, the World Cup arc is already proving to be exciting, especially with the intense match against Nigeria. Everything in Blue Lock has been leading to this point, and fans are eager to see what happens next.

4) Centuria

In Tohru Kuramori’s Centuria, Lacrima managed to infiltrate Julian’s family. Meanwhile, Elstri led a powerful attack with a group of gifted individuals, aiming to kill Diana. Although the attack didn’t succeed, it revealed truths about Diana and paved the way for a larger conflict in the future.

Centuria continues to be a thrilling and captivating series. Recent plot developments have deepened the story and created exciting possibilities for the future, especially concerning Diana’s prophecy and the mysterious forces surrounding it. Even though it’s only been running for two years, Centuria has quickly established itself as a fantastic read.

3) Ichi The Witch

I’m completely hooked on Osamu Nishi and Shiro Usazaki’s Ichi the Witch! After that incredible showdown with the World Hater, Ichi and his crew didn’t rest for a second. They immediately jumped into tracking down other dangerous Majiks. First up, they had to team up with the seriously intense Gokuraku to take down Bakugami – a real master of trickery and manipulation. Then, things got even more urgent when they started battling Kizashi, this crazy Octobomb Majik, all to protect the child of the Chronoweaver Majik – who’s half-human, by the way! It’s been a wild ride so far.

After a strong start, Ichi the Witch truly delivered in 2025 with constant excitement, impressive world and character designs, and a memorable group of heroes and villains. It’s quickly become one of the best new manga series, and fans are hoping for many more stories to come.

2) Kagurabachi

In Takeru Hokazono’s Kagurabachi, Chihiro convinced Samura to rejoin him after their battle with the Hishaku over Iori. However, the respite was short-lived, as the Hishaku immediately launched a full-scale attack on the Kamunabi, and even managed to release the dangerous swordsman, Akemura Soga.

The end of Samura’s storyline was incredibly exciting, and the story didn’t miss a beat, immediately launching into the intense Kamunabi invasion and a shocking reveal: Akemura’s liberation. Kagurabachi remains a top manga in Shonen Jump, and these recent events promise an even brighter future for the series.

1) One Piece

In Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece, Loki had to reveal the truth about King Harald’s death to persuade Hajrudin to release him. This led to a detailed flashback that explored Harald’s history, formally introduced the character Rocks D. Xebec, and finally revealed the story behind the long-anticipated God Valley Incident.

The recent flashback arc in One Piece, focusing on Harald and Rocks, has been exceptional, truly living up to the excitement. It’s some of the best writing the series has ever seen, and a major reason why One Piece was considered the best ongoing manga of 2025.
