As I delve deeper into the rollercoaster that is the lives of reality TV stars, I find myself drawn into the tumultuous tale of Lindsay and Carl from Summer House. Their relationship, much like a season of their show, had its highs and lows, but ultimately, it seems to have reached its final episode.
What a difference a year can make.
It’s astonishing to think back to a mere 12 months ago when Lindsay Hubbard and Carl Radke were on the brink of exchanging their wedding vows. However, as followers of “Summer House” are aware, those nuptials didn’t take place.
In August 2023, Carl decided to postpone their wedding due to persistent issues within their relationship and difficulties in maintaining communication.
Two weeks ago, Lindsay described those days as the most painful and emotional she has ever experienced. She felt like everything she knew about her life and future was suddenly taken away, leaving her struggling to understand what happened with no explanation or resolution in sight.
However, contrary to what the previous publicist claimed, they seemed to have been anticipating the split. On the other hand, viewers of Bravo had an exclusive view of their downfall during season eight of Summer House, which unfolded earlier this year. Re-experiencing the turmoil was undeniably tough for both parties, as they held vastly contrasting perspectives on their separation.
However, today the exes have fully moved on and are in completely different stages of their lives.
Indeed, it turns out that Lindsay has rediscovered love and is expecting her initial offspring, a baby girl, scheduled for birth in December.
Currently, Carl is choosing to step aside from dating for the time being, devoting all his attention to an exciting new venture – opening a sober bar here in New York City.

In August 2023, it was announced that Carl Radke ended his engagement with Lindsay Hubbard, leaving their wedding plans two and a half months unfulfilled.
The breakup came almost exactly one year after the Summer House costars got engaged in the Hamptons.
Lindsay spoke out for the first time two weeks after her ex called off their wedding.
Initially, I want to express my gratitude for granting me the opportunity to sort through my feelings, recover, and mourn the end of not just a romantic relationship, but also a 8-year friendship that was very special to me. The past two weeks have been the most painful and emotional period in my life so far. My entire existence and future were abruptly taken away, leaving me struggling to understand what happened – with no explanations or resolution about why this occurred.
The reality TV star confessed that she was left feeling both “devastated” and “embarrassed”, stating, “This wasn’t my choice, and I don’t concur with ending a relationship at such a significant stage without exhausting all potential solutions first.”
Two months following the healing process, Danielle Olivera, Lindsay’s fellow cast member, posted an update about Lindsay’s wellbeing after their breakup.
Danielle shared with TopMob News that things are improving for her friend significantly. “She was going through a tough time before, barely leaving her apartment,” Danielle said. “However, she seems to be venturing out more now. I’m eagerly anticipating the day when she’s free and can socialize again, allowing us to enjoy the nightlife together. She’s gradually making a comeback.”
Simultaneously, Kyle Cooke shared his thoughts on what he perceived as the core issues they were facing.
He shared with TopMob that it’s well-known they’ve been attending couples therapy since they began dating. It seems as though they can hardly communicate without an intermediary now, and Carl said something along the lines of, “I don’t want to spend the next 50 years of my life like this.”
Just a few short weeks before what turned out not to be their wedding, Lindsay disclosed surprising insights about their split conversation and alleged that Carl deliberately engineered a public breakup during season eight of the Bravo series for better television ratings.
She shared with Us Weekly back in November that if this discussion had taken place during the usual filming period over the summer, it would have been a different situation. However, for him to contact producers later and arrange for cameras, thereby influencing her into re-engaging after filming had ended, is concerning. What’s alarming is that as soon as she did, news spread worldwide in just 30 minutes.
Lindsay stated that she was taken aback by her ex-fiancé’s choice, yet remarked, “The final fortnight of summer saw a marked change in his behavior and tone. There were numerous instances of hostility and aggression from him, and I found myself utterly bewildered.”
Carl finally told his side of the story for the first time at BravoCon 2023 in Las Vegas.
He shared with TopMob News that it’s been an extremely challenging period for him. However, he sees BravoCon as an opportunity for him to emerge stronger, keep his chin up, make progress in a dignified manner, and ultimately, continue living his life and moving forward.
Carl also addressed Lindsay’s accusation about planning to break up with her on camera.
As a committed associate, I don’t have the authority to initiate filming; instead, it’s the production team that makes that call. Our summer was quite unpredictable, with its fair share of highs and lows. The recent developments over the past couple weeks left no doubt in the minds of producers about our impending conclusion. It was almost as if they were questioning, “How could you be planning a wedding just a few months from now?”
At BravoCon, Lindsay made it clear that she has no intentions of reconciling with her co-star. She emphatically told TopMob News, “Absolutely not!” or simply, “Nope!”
Lindsay also shared she was “doing well” after having several months to recover from the shock.
Reflecting on the past month, it was quite challenging, but an unforgettable bachelorette trip with my gal pals turned everything around. We celebrated our bond as sisters, lifting each other up in the process. Since then, I’ve been taking one step at a time, finding momentum, confidence, and inner strength. Now, I find myself in a fantastic place.
It appears that Lindsay may have playfully teased her ex by having dinner with “The Challenge’s” Johnny Bananas in New York City during the weekend when she was supposed to marry Carl instead.
Despite sparking romance rumors, the two reality stars maintained they are just friends.
Six months post-split, Carl revealed the real reason why he still wasn’t dating again.
He shared with TopMob News that while he desires a family life and stability, choosing the right partner for marriage is a crucial decision. Therefore, he intends to spend some time healing and focusing on personal growth.
Plus, his and Lindsay’s relationship issues and dramatic breakup still hadn’t played out on TV.
He expressed that the person might arrive, yet he’s not anxious or eager because he still holds onto emotional ties. For him, immersing in old memories on TV and initiating a fresh relationship with feelings from the past still unresolved seems inappropriate and premature, as he’s not emotionally ready to open up to something new.
During season eight of “Summer House,” spectators witnessed the disintegration of the ex-pair’s relationship, with Lindsay alleging that Carl, who has been clean for three years, was under the influence of cocaine in one of their numerous heated arguments.
In a heartfelt moment during the February 29th episode, Carl expressed his feelings in a confessional, saying, “I can hardly speak without my heart pounding and my body trembling because this hurts so much. It’s unbearable to think that this person I’m supposed to spend my life with is accusing or insinuating that I’m using drugs. This thought cuts me to the core.”
Lindsay later issued a sort of-apology on social media saying, “I wish I had used better wording.”
In the highly-anticipated climax of Summer House’s Season Finale on May 30, I found myself in an uncomfortable yet necessary conversation with Lindsay about our relationship hurdles. The discussion turned out to be far more intense and confrontational than any of us had imagined.
In a different wording, it seems that Carl found it difficult to progress in his professional pursuits due to Lindsay’s persistent doubts, and he felt she was manipulatively accusing him of gaslighting and portraying herself as the victim too often in their relationship.
In simpler terms, Carl said to her, “You treated me harshly and referred to me as someone who never succeeds.” He added that she had also insulted him by calling him disrespectful names such as a small, weak man, a little baby, and a mama’s boy, implying he should go back home to his parents.
Carl went on, expressing his perception that you may not have full confidence in him. He believes you suspect he might slip up again, and furthermore, he feels that you secretly hope for this to happen so you can exert greater control over him.
Lindsay’s response?
She fiercely responded, “Are you asking me to battle for our relationship at this moment? I won’t plead for your affection.” Instead, she indicated that the discussion had reached its end, as her stance had been firmly established.
Lindsay made it clear that she had moved forward when she revealed she was pregnant with her first child alongside her new, as-yet-unidentified partner.
Lindsay shared on Instagram, “We’re expecting a baby!”, accompanied by images of her developing belly and an ultrasound, posted on July 4th. She expressed her conviction that the universe has a greater purpose for this development in her life.
Even though Lindsay chooses not to disclose her daughter’s father’s identity, she once shared with TopMob that they share a “very special, considerate, and affectionate bond which I hold dear.”
A few days following the announcement of her pregnancy, Lindsay disclosed her genuine feelings about Carl learning about her expecting.
She informed People that he would likely learn the information when everyone else does, but she has no intention of reaching out to him for a conversation. That part of her life is behind her, and she’s too preoccupied with the present and the future to dwell on the past.
“Truthfully speaking,” she went on, “it’s no longer my duty to manage his feelings. It’s simply not an issue I need to worry about any longer.”
