It’s been an exciting year for Dragon Ball, and things are looking up as we head into 2026 with a packed TV lineup. Toei Animation is planning a major celebration for the series, and to get fans hyped for what’s coming, they’re putting up special holiday lights featuring Goku and Vegeta.
It’s not surprising to see Goku and Vegeta, the stars of Dragon Ball, featured in this amazing Christmas display while they’re fighting. But what really stood out was the incredible detail of Shenron watching the battle from behind – it took the whole display to another level! Check it out:

I really enjoyed the moment when Goku and Vegeta’s energy blasts—the Kamehameha and Big Bang—collided, forming a massive, suspended energy sphere before exploding. What still impresses me is how they incorporated Shenron into the scene—I’d definitely keep that display up all year if it were my property! I wonder what my homeowner’s association would think, but hopefully, they’re fans of Dragon Ball Z too.
While there aren’t any Dragon Ball movies perfect for a Christmas movie list, the original series has recently been remastered in HD on Crunchyroll. If you’re looking to add some action and enjoy a classic anime from the 80s this holiday season, this is the version to watch.

This Dragon Ball Z fan art is amazing! It cleverly reimagines Goku and Vegeta as the characters Deadpool and Wolverine, and I absolutely love it.
As the holidays mark the end of the year, I’m curious about the future of the Dragon Ball series. The late Akira Toriyama recently worked on Dragon Ball Daima, but we haven’t heard anything about whether Dragon Ball Super or Daima will continue.
It’s surprising that Toei, the studio behind the massive Dragon Ball franchise, would pause new series. Goku has become a pop culture icon, comparable to today’s popular Marvel and even some DC heroes. While Superman is currently enjoying a surge in popularity, it’s clear who would win in a fight between the two.
By 2026, we should have a good idea of what’s next for Dragon Ball. We’ll likely find out if Dragon Ball Super will continue with new episodes, or if a live-action show or movie is being planned. It’s one of the few big anime franchises that hasn’t had a truly successful live-action adaptation, especially considering the poorly received movie from the past.
I’m going to stop guessing about what might happen next and just enjoy the existing episodes of Dragon Ball on Crunchyroll. You should check it out, along with other popular anime available on the platform, and get excited for the new year!
