An actor from My Hero Academia thought their character wouldn’t survive, and was surprised by their part in the show’s final season. My Hero Academia‘s anime concluded this fall, wrapping up the battle between Izuku Midoriya and All For One. The season began with a significant confrontation, giving the hero All Might a final, important moment.
Christopher Sabat, the voice actor for All Might in My Hero Academia, recently told ComicBook that he initially believed his character wouldn’t survive long enough to reach the final season, let alone fight in the last battle. However, he was pleasantly surprised by how the anime handled All Might’s final confrontation with All For One, describing it as both inspiring and cool – a sentiment many fans share.
My Hero Academia’s All Might Reacts to the Final Battle
I really appreciated how they portrayed All Might’s last fight,” Sabat shared. “Honestly, I was just glad he even made it to that point. I actually thought he wouldn’t! But bringing him in and having him do something so inspiring – building that suit with Dave, an old friend who helped create the All Might persona, and using Dave’s technology with his daughter Melissa, who voices the AI in the suit – and then arming it with weapons named after his students… it was incredibly moving, and I was completely overwhelmed.
Sabat shared how moved he was to see the final battle reveal that Midoriya had actually been the one inspiring the hero all along. He was particularly touched by how the hero’s attacks and weapons were named after his students and their unique abilities, saying it resonated with him deeply as a father. Sabat also enjoyed seeing the hero playfully tease his biggest enemy during the battle’s climax.
All Might Goes Wild for Final All For One Fight

Sabat added that he enjoyed how All Might managed to playfully provoke All For One. He tried to distract him from the fight, and did so in a wonderfully silly way – that suit with the huge grin was perfect! It was clear All Might just wanted to annoy his enemy. This is a big part of why fans loved seeing All Might’s final battle with All For One, as it revealed a completely different side of the once-leading hero.
Thankfully, All Might survived the events of My Hero Academia, and fans will get to see more of him and the other heroes in a special epilogue episode coming to Crunchyroll next spring. Just like Deku and his classmates, All Might’s story isn’t over, and we’ll soon be able to see what happens next.
