Venom the Last Dance: New Trailer Sets up Spider-Man Meeting

As a seasoned gamer and comic book enthusiast with over two decades of experience under my belt, I must admit that the latest trailer for “Venom: The Last Dance” has me more than just a little excited! After the thrilling ride we had with “Venom: Let There Be Carnage,” it’s intriguing to see Tom Hardy’s anti-hero back in action, this time battling the formidable Knull.

In the fresh trailer for “Venom: The Last Dance,” hints are subtly dropped suggesting a reunion between Spider-Man and Eddie Brock. Tom Hardy’s character, the anti-hero Venom, returns to his Sony Marvel universe. This trailer heavily implies the impending demise of Venom and Brock’s bond. However, if their friendship is severed, it could mean that Hardy witnesses his ally giving up everything for the sake of the world, leaving him safe. If he finds this ending unacceptable, it may fall upon Brock to devise another means to be reunited with Venom. The only viable option seems to be tracking down a fragment of the symbiote left behind in the MCU.

Since the release of “Venom: Let There Be Carnage,” things have taken a drastic turn for Venom. Now, he is being hunted by Knull, the god of symbiotes, who requires Eddie’s best friend to accomplish his world-conquering plans. To prevent capture, our beloved antihero, Venom, must navigate through enemies both human and monstrous throughout today’s trailer. As the battle with Knull approaches, there’s a strong possibility that the deity may prove too powerful for the symbiote to withstand. With no other options left, Venom might be forced to sacrifice itself to protect Brock and its adopted home. Undoubtedly, Tom Hardy’s character would be devastated by this outcome.

If Knull manages to grab Venom, it won’t mean he’s fully seized control over the symbiote. Just like Eddie Brock, I believe there’ll be a chance for him to reunite with his buddy, as some of that black goo remains in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Some fans might have overlooked this, but there’s still a piece of the symbiote lurking around in Spider-Man’s world. At the end of Spider-Man: No Way Home, Eddie was whisked away from that strange bar he spent the entire film in, leaving behind a small token for Tom Holland’s Spider-Man. This could potentially lead to a thrilling confrontation between Venom and Spidey.

The Venom Series Has Been Teasing A Spider-Man Crossover For A While

Venom the Last Dance: New Trailer Sets up Spider-Man Meeting

Ever since the original Venom film became a massive success, fans have been speculating if a Spider-Man collaboration is on the horizon. Actors like Tom Hardy and Andy Serkis, who are part of this universe, haven’t exactly silenced these rumors. Before the release of Venom: Let There Be Carnage, Serkis hinted at a potential crossover in an interview with IGN. He said, “That’s the question on everyone’s mind: will Venom encounter Spider-Man? But from my perspective, it will never happen. I’m just kidding, of course it’s going to happen…” We are now tantalizingly close to this long-awaited encounter.

According to Serkis, whether and when one decides to transition from Venom to Spider-Man depends on individual preferences. If fans are eager for more Venom tales, they could potentially overlook numerous exciting supervillain characters that lie between now and a possible encounter with Spider-Man. In essence, rushing the transition might inadvertently limit opportunities.

Indeed, Serkis was aware that his movie would include a post-credits scene hinting at a showdown between these two characters. However, they didn’t actually cross paths in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Instead, it appears that Venom: The Last Dance is setting things up just as No Way Home did before. So, Tom Holland might want to hit the gym hard because if Spider-Man 4 materializes, it could potentially deliver the intense, long-anticipated fight that fans are eagerly awaiting.
