Tekken 8 – Heihachi Mishima Arrives on October 3rd, First Gameplay Revealed

As a seasoned Tekken veteran with over two decades of gaming under my belt, I can confidently say that the return of Heihachi Mishima in Tekken 8 is a momentous occasion for fans like myself. Having witnessed his rise, fall, and resurrection numerous times, it’s fascinating to see him come back stronger than ever. The Heat and Rage Art moves are a testament to Bandai Namco Entertainment’s commitment to keeping the series fresh and exciting.

In the upcoming DLC for Tekken 8, Heihachi Mishima will be joining the roster globally starting October 3rd. However, those who own the Year 1 Pass can start playing with him a day earlier on September 30th. Get ready to square off against The King of the Iron Fist himself ahead of everyone else! You can watch his first gameplay trailer below.

Previously believed to have perished following the occurrences in Tekken 7, Heihachi has made an unexpected return, displaying strength that surpasses his previous feats. Although his trademark Mishima Karate techniques remain unchanged, when he enters Heat mode, his muscles radiate red and a conspicuous scar on his chest becomes more noticeable. This transformation also takes place with the Rage Art, an ability that allows him to channel thunder’s power for a devastating blow.

Starting the following week, Year 1 Pass holders will get an early visit from Heihachi. Meanwhile, a fresh, free story chapter called “Unforgotten Echoes” will be accessible to all players. This captivating tale includes characters who didn’t appear in The Dark Awakens Story Mode, such as Eddy Gordo, Lidia, and Heihachi. However, Reina and Yoshimitsu also play significant roles. Keep an eye out for further updates leading up to its launch.

Tekken 8 is available for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. Check out our review of the base game.
