Sinners: First Trailer Released for Ryan Coogler & Michael B. Jordan Vampire Movie

As a die-hard fan who has followed Ryan Coogler and Michael B. Jordan‘s careers since their breakout days, I can hardly contain my excitement for the upcoming vampire movie, Sinners! Having been hooked on every project they’ve collaborated on, from Fruitvale Station to Black Panther, I’m eagerly awaiting this new addition to their impressive filmography.

At last, the first glimpse of “Sinners” is here, and it seems this movie is quickly climbing various must-watch lists for 2025! “Sinners,” a captivating vampire flick, is the brainchild of Ryan Coogler, director of “Creed” and “Black Panther,” who has been working on this project alongside his longtime friend and collaborator Michael B. Jordan. On Monday evening, Warner Bros. finally unveiled the movie’s title (which had been a secret since production started) and hinted that the first trailer would be released the following day.

At last, here we are on a Tuesday, and what a treat! The highly anticipated trailer for “Sinners” has officially been released worldwide. Take a look at the video below to catch a glimpse!

The film titled “Sinners” is a vampire movie, set in the Deep South, where Jordan will portray not just one, but two lead characters. For some time, there have been whispers suggesting this dual role, but the posters unveiled on Monday serve as confirmation of his double duty.

So far, Michael B. Jordan has been featured in every movie directed by Ryan Coogler. He played lead roles in “Fruitvale Station”, “Creed”, and “Black Panther”; later making a surprise appearance in “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever”. In the film “Sinners”, Jordan shares the screen with a talented ensemble including Hailee Steinfeld, Jack O’Connell, Wunmi Mosaku, Li Jun Li, and Delroy Lindo.

There’s been plenty of discussion that the character of Blade from Marvel Comics might have impacted the concept of ‘Sinners’. This could be due to the fact that the movie revolves around a Black vampire slayer, but it seems many of these similarities may stem from timing. The announcement of ‘Sinners’ coincided with the ongoing creative revisions in Marvel’s Blade reboot. For years, the production of Blade has faced various challenges, including creative disputes and industry-wide strikes. Despite Mahershala Ali still being attached to play the lead role, the project hasn’t yet taken flight.

While those events unfolded, one of the highly successful directors from Marvel Studios collaborated with a previous Marvel actor to create a movie that could resemble a similar project at a competing studio. To many, this collaboration seems like Coogler and Jordan creating their own take on Blade, but it is yet to be determined how much genetic material their film will have in common with Marvel’s Daywalker.

Sinners is set to hit theaters everywhere on March 7, 2025.
