It seems that not enough discussion is happening around the remarkable murder mystery game, The Invisible Hours, in various circles.
Initially launched exclusively for PlayStation VR, this game primarily focuses on observation. The narrative unfolds sequentially within a mansion, allowing you to choose whom to trail and what sights to discover along the way.
To fully understand the storyline, it’s necessary to go through the game several times, since you piece together the narrative by observing all the events taking place within the residence.
Initially, it failed to meet expectations upon release, but subsequent updates allowed gamers to play it without needing a VR headset. Now, there’s optimism for an updated version.

It’s possible you remember that after developer Tequila Works closed shop, they put their assets up for auction. Among those assets was the rights to The Invisible Hours, which were ultimately bought by its original author, Rob Yescombe.
In conversation with UploadVR, he shared that he’s currently working on enhancing the game, and he’s actively seeking a collaborator to help bring this vision to life.
He said:
Our goal is to rework this item significantly, making it effectively a brand-new product for most audiences. For publishers investing in our vision, they’re essentially covering all the costs associated with production at the cost of a remastered version.
In the chat, he’s all about virtual reality, mentioning PSVR2 left and right. But I can’t help but wonder if a revamped version for flat-screen gaming might also be in the works.
It’s intriguing to consider whether Yescombe could secure financing for this project, given that only a new coat of paint and an investment in marketing seem necessary. The core narrative remains excellent and we wouldn’t want to alter it significantly, as it is already compelling.
Instead of playing a remastered version of The Invisible Hours, would you consider giving it a try? I have a feeling that this one-of-a-kind game is not getting the recognition it deserves. Be sure to check out the comments section below for more insights.
