God of War Ragnarok Will be PS5 Pro Enhanced

As a long-time PlayStation enthusiast with memories of the golden age of God of War etched deep within my gaming history, the news that Ragnarok will grace the PS5 Pro as a PS5 Pro Enhanced title has me downright giddy! I’ve spent countless hours hacking and slashing through Norse mythology, and the prospect of experiencing Kratos and Atreus’ latest adventure in all its enhanced glory is enough to make this veteran warrior leap for joy!

As we get closer to the launch of the PS5 Pro next month, Sony and other publishers have unveiled several games that will offer enhanced features on the console at release. With the launch date approaching, even more titles are being added to this list. Now, another significant first-party game has been confirmed for the upcoming upgraded console.

According to its PlayStation Store listing, God of War Ragnarok is expected to support PS5 Pro Enhancements. The label on the store page suggests this, but the specifics about what these enhancements involve are not yet clear. It’s likely that the game will leverage the console’s advanced ray-tracing technology and PSSR (PlayStation Store’s abbreviation) to provide more vivid visuals, smoother performance, and potentially higher frame rates. We can only hope for a detailed explanation of these enhancements soon.

On November 7, the PS5 Pro makes its debut. Among the games set to benefit from console-specific enhancements at launch are Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart, Horizon Forbidden West, Resident Evil Village, Dragon Age: The Veilguard, Diablo 4, and several others.
