KANADE first launched for PC via Steam on June 12.

The game Caput Mortum was initially released on PC through Steam on August 27th, and later became available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles on December 3rd.

Developed by Number None, Braid is a puzzle-platformer game originally released for Xbox Live Arcade in 2008. Created over three years by Jonathan Blow, with art by David Hellman, the game follows Tim as he tries to rescue a princess. A deeper story is revealed as you play, and Braid stands out for its unique ability to manipulate time – a feature that helped it become a popular indie game in the early 2000s. By 2023, over 1.5 million copies had been sold, and it’s now celebrated as one of the greatest platformers of all time.

For a period, Ultimate Spider-Man was a huge success. It became Marvel’s most popular comic, consistently selling out each month and surpassing all others in sales. It was a remarkably popular title, something the comic world hadn’t seen in years, and it paved the way for other successful Marvel series that fans adored. But eventually, its dominance faded. New titles like the X-Men’s “From the Ashes” reboot and DC’s Absolute line emerged. Even with increased competition, Ultimate Spider-Man issues #11 and #12 were still incredibly well-received. However, things have since changed. The enthusiastic praise has died down, and the comic is no longer a top seller. The series seems to have lost its way, and it might be time to acknowledge that it always had underlying issues.

For a while, it seemed certain we’d see more stories about the Sully family and the world of Pandora. However, director James Cameron started hinting at uncertainty before the release of Fire and Ash. He suggested he might write a book to conclude the series if the third film wasn’t successful or didn’t attract enough viewers, and even mentioned having other projects he’d like to pursue after Avatar. This is disappointing, as Avatar 4 clearly has a significant story to tell, and we might never get to see it. Be warned: the following contains spoilers for Avatar: Fire and Ash.

Many ongoing manga series continued to be enjoyable in 2025, and the new titles released throughout the year were also impressive, both in terms of artwork and storytelling. Several of these new series were particularly strong and have the potential to become long-running favorites.

The recent change in how games are released is why Control Resonant is surprisingly important. Remedy launching a big, single-player game on Steam immediately isn’t just a simple addition or a marketing tactic. It shows that one of the most innovative game developers recognizes something that was often overlooked in the past: making games widely available leads to more players, and ultimately, more revenue – even without requiring players to stay within a specific platform.
