Xilonen Quick Character Guide

Xilonen Quick Character Guide

As a seasoned veteran of Genshin Impact, I must say that Xilonen is indeed a formidable character to have in one’s team. Her versatility and adaptability make her an excellent choice for various roles, particularly as a DPS. Now, let me share with you some teams that I believe would synergize well with our dear Xilonen.

In simpler terms, Xilonen functions as a supportive character who can lower the resistance of various elements for enemies she’s near, depending on the party members in your team. This elemental resistance reduction applies to different types of elements based on your active characters.

Skills Overview

Normal Attack: Ehecatl’s Roar

Xilonen Quick Character Guide

Normal AttackPerforms up to 3 rapid strikes.

Charged AttackConsumes a fixed amount of Stamina and performs a forward kick.

I soar through the air, then plummet downwards with a forceful strike, leaving a trail of damage in my wake and unleashing area-of-effect damage upon impact. The power of this attack is derived from my own defensive strength, as Xilonen.

In the state of Nightsoul’s Blessing, Xilonen switches to Blade Roller mode. During this mode, she can execute up to 4 kicks with her roller blades while performing normal attacks, but she won’t be able to use charged attacks. Instead, her normal and plunging attacks will change to deal damage based on her defense, aligning with Nightsoul and causing Geo damage that cannot be overridden.

Elemental Skill: Yohual’s Scratch

Xilonen Quick Character Guide

Unleash the pulsating energy of passion across the realm! Xilonen swiftly dons her high-speed battle skates and advances a specific distance, then inflicts Geo damage aligned with Nightsoul that scales with her defense.

Xilonen Quick Character Guide

Xilonen carries three Soundscape Generators that adapt to her teammates’ Elemental Affinities, making it harder for adversaries with the same affinity to defend. Each generator starts with a Geo sound, and if any team member is Pyro, Hydro, Cryo, or Electro, one of Xilonen’s Geo generators will transform to match their element. When Xilonen is in her Nightsoul’s Blessing state, all her Geo Sound generators are constantly active. Once she unlocks her passive skill, “Netotiliztli’s Echoes,” Xilonen can activate this talent to accumulate Nightsoul points for herself. When these points reach their maximum, she uses them up and activates the three sound generators in her possession for 15 seconds.

Xilonen Quick Character Guide

When Source Samples are turned on, the resistance of adjacent enemies’ related Elemental Resources decreases. Effects from Source Samples of the same element type do not build up or accumulate. Xilonen can still initiate these effects even if it is not on the battlefield.

Activate Nightsoul’s Blessing for Xilonen. Keep accumulating Nightsoul points. Once the points run out or are used again, the state of Nightsoul’s Blessing ends. This state offers these unique abilities:

When Xilonen’s Nightsoul energy runs out during the Nightsoul’s Blessing phase, her ability to accumulate Nightsoul points through the passive talent “Netotiliztli’s Echoes” will cease.

Elemental Burst: Ocelotlicue Point!

Turns on the Portable Phlogiston Stereo DJ Controller to its maximum setting, dishing out Area of Effect Geo Damage aligned with Nightsoul, based on Xilonen’s Defense level.

CD: 15s
Energy Cost: 60

As a fan, I’d like to share some exciting details about Xilonen’s abilities! Here are the effects she triggers depending on her Source Samples:

Ascension 1: Netotiliztli’s Echoes

In the state of Nightsoul’s Blessing:

Ascension 4: Portable Armored Sheath

In the state of Nightsoul’s Blessing, when Xilonen’s Nightsoul energy reaches its peak, she will activate an effect identical to her Nightsoul Burst. This action can be performed every 14 seconds.

Night Realm’s Gift Passive: Blessing of Forge-Fire

Once Xilonen’s NightSoul energy is completely drained, she switches to absorbing Phlogiston to preserve her NightSoul’s Grace. In regions with Phlogiston properties within Natlan, she can activate the Nightsoul Transmission: Xilonen ability. If the active character is running, climbing, using specific talents, or at a certain altitude, this action will cause Xilonen to enter the NightSoul’s Blessing state and receive 20 NightSoul points. In these instances, Xilonen’s NightSoul energy lasts for four seconds before automatically expiring. However, using Yohual’s Scratch within this timeframe will extend her NightSoul point duration by nine seconds. The Nightsoul Transmission can be activated once every ten seconds by your team members.

Passive Talent: Tour of Tepeilhuitl

Triggering Nightsoul Transmission restores 15 Phlogiston.

TLDR / Rotation

Xilonen Quick Character Guide

Despite having a lengthy description of each talent, all you need to know about Xilonen is her Skill and Burst.
When using Skill, Xilonen will have 3 Source Samples (can be seen in the image above). By default, the Source Samples will be Geo. But if you have an elemental character (Pyro/Hydro/Electro/Cryo), the color of the Source Sample will change to those elemental characters.

Xilonen Quick Character Guide

After activating Nightsoul’s Blessing using Skill and gathering 3 Source Samples, perform 2 regular attacks to completely restore Nightsoul points. Once the meter is full, Xilonen will consume these points and trigger the Source Samples, lowering opponents’ corresponding Elemental Resistance. This unique ability makes her highly effective, on par with Kazuha.

Xilonen Quick Character Guide

For Xilonen’s healing burst to activate effectively, it is crucial that she has at least 2 Source Samples with altered Elemental Types (from Swirable elements). In such a case, Xilonen will produce an Ebullient rhythm, healing nearby active characters periodically according to her DEF. This is often the preferred choice as Xilonen performs better in an elemental team compared to a Mono-Geo team, particularly when used in Furina’s squad.

In short, you want to use Skill > Normal Attack x2 > Burst (for healing if you want).

Talent Priorities

Skill > Burst

If you don’t require Xilonen’s healing abilities, you can disregard her Burst skill since her primary strengths come from her Skill, Artifacts, and (if you own her signature weapon) her Weapon buffs.

Constellations

Xilonen Quick Character Guide

Best Constellations: C1, C2, C4 & C6

Altered Version: Xilonen’s Nightsoul Energy and Phlogiston consumption are reduced by 30%, and the duration of her Nightsoul’s Blessing is extended by 45%. Furthermore, when Xilonen’s Source Samples are active, she can also increase the interruption resistance of nearby characters.

Recommended Weapons

  1. Peak Patrol Song (5⭐)*
  2. Freedom-Sworn (5⭐)*
  3. Favonius Sword (4⭐)
  4. Flute of Ezpitzal (4⭐)*
  5. Skyrider Sword (3⭐)

Weapon options below Favonius Sword do not really affect Xilonen’s performance as a Support.

Xilonen Quick Character Guide

1) Peak Patrol Song (ATK: 542 • DEF: 82.7%)

After landing a Normal or Critical attack, increase your Defense by 8-16% and gain a 10-20% bonus on all elemental damage for 6 seconds. This effect can stack up to 2 times, with each stack being refreshed once every 0.1 seconds. When you reach the maximum of 2 stacks or refresh the duration of the second stack, boost the elemental damage bonus of your party members by 8-16% for every 1000 Defense points you have, up to a maximum of 25.6-51.2%, for 15 seconds. However, this effect caps out when Xilonen reaches a total Defense of 3200.

Xilonen Quick Character Guide

2) Freedom-Sworn (ATK: 608 • Elemental Mastery: 198)

A segment of the “Millennial Movement” that moves with the breeze enhances damage output by 10-20%. When a character using this weapon initiates Elemental Reactions, they acquire a “Sigil of Rebellion.” This ability can be activated once every half second and can trigger even if the character is off the field. Gathering two Sigils of Rebellion will cause both to be expended, granting “Millennial Movement: Song of Resistance” to nearby party members for 12 seconds. This buff increases Normal, Charged, and Plunging Attack damage by 16-32% and raises ATK by 20-40%. After this effect activates, no new Sigils of Rebellion can be gained for 20 seconds. Multiple effects of the “Millennial Movement” won’t stack.

Xilonen Quick Character Guide

3) Favonius Sword (ATK: 454 • Energy Recharge 61.3%)

CRIT successful strikes may produce between 60% and 100% chances of creating a few Elemental Fragments, restoring 6 Energy points to the character. Each event can transpire just once every 12 to 6 seconds.

Xilonen Quick Character Guide

4) Flute of Ezpitzal (ATK: 454 • DEF: 69.0%)

When you employ an Elemental Skill, your Defense boosts by 16-32 percent for a duration of 15 seconds. However, refining this particular weapon has no impact on Xilonen.

Xilonen Quick Character Guide

5) Skyrider Sword (ATK: 354 • Energy Recharge 51.7%)

Using an Elemental Burst grants a 12~24% increase in ATK and Movement SPD for 15s.

Recommended Artifacts

  1. Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City (4)*
  2. Archaic Petra (4)
  3. Noblesse Oblige (4)

In case none of the team members can manage the “Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City (4)”, it’s crucial that Xilonen focuses on this item first. The other alternatives are available if someone else is currently using the Scroll. If you don’t require Xilonen’s healing skills or aren’t activating Peak Patrol Song, her artifact stats become irrelevant.

Xilonen Quick Character Guide

1) Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City

1 Piece: When a party member within range sets off a Nightsoul Burst, the character wearing this equipment restores 6 units of Elemental Energy.

2) Archaic Petra

2 Piece: Gains a 15% boost to Geo DMG.

Team Compositions

To optimize Xilonen’s abilities, consider assembling a team of characters with Pyro, Hydro, Electro, or Cryo elements. Characters with Anemo, Dendro, or Physical attributes may not align well with Xilonen, so it’s advisable to exclude them from the team composition. However, Kazuha and Nahida can be beneficial additions to Xilonen’s team.
