Travis Barker, the drummer for Blink-182, is training for his first marathon, scheduled for March 2026. He’s been building up to it by running 5Ks, half marathons, and even started a running club called “Run Travis Run.” Unfortunately, he recently injured his leg and is now using crutches, which is a setback in his training.
Travis shared on X (formerly Twitter) on December 28th that he injured his shin while training for the Los Angeles marathon. He jokingly noted that using forearm crutches was actually a good workout.
Travis recently injured his shin just a month after leading his last run club event of the year in Los Angeles on November 9th. He had previously held similar events in Chicago, Las Vegas, and Palm Desert.
His team praised Travis online, saying, “LA, you were amazing!” They shared a photo of him running down Ocean Avenue in Los Angeles with many participants and added, “Thanks for making the final race so memorable.”
After the race, musician Travis Scott—who has four children including Rocky, age 2, with wife Kourtney Kardashian, and Atiana De La Hoya, Landon Barker, and Alabama Barker with ex Shanna Moakler—rode on a float designed like a Vans high-top sneaker and then played his most popular songs.

Travis started running more than ten years ago, initially as a way to heal after a serious plane crash in 2008. It wasn’t just a pastime; it helped him recover.

While running the 2015 Boston Marathon to raise money for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, the actress from Orange Is the New Black listened to Sara Bareilles’ song “Brave.” She did this to honor a friend who had passed away from cancer. The song had been a source of strength for her friend throughout her treatment, and she listened to it constantly during chemotherapy. Now, when the actress trains, she feels like her friend is encouraging her to keep pushing forward.

Ryan Reynolds, known for his role as Deadpool, was motivated to run the 2008 New York City Marathon by his father’s struggle with Parkinson’s disease. He completed the marathon in three hours and fifty minutes and also raised funds for Parkinson’s research through Team Fox, an organization founded by Michael J. Fox.

In 2007, after completing the New York City Marathon, the actress surprisingly appeared at the premiere of Tom Cruise’s film, Lions for Lambs, and even wore heels!
