Chainsmokers’ Drew Taggart Marries Mari Fonseca in Costa Rica Wedding

Drew Taggart and Mari Fonseca are now even closer.

Drew, one half of the popular DJ duo The Chainsmokers, married model Lexi Wood in Costa Rica at the end of 2025.

Drew, age 35, posted a video of their wedding, showing a beautiful moment of them dancing together on the beach as the sun set. In the video, Drew and Mari dance next to two horses, and Mari playfully jumps into Drew’s arms. The post, shared on December 29th, simply announced, “WE ARE MARRIED!”

The wedding is happening a little over a year after Drew proposed to Mari with a five-carat diamond ring. He surprised her at a Los Angeles restaurant, where she thought she was just meeting a friend – Ivanka Trump – for a girls’ night out.

When Mari opened the restaurant door and saw him instead of her friends, her first question was, ‘What are you doing here?’ They both started laughing, and he asked, ‘Do you know what this is?’ She replied with a laugh, ‘Maybe!’ She thought the whole moment was really sweet.

The proposal felt like a deeply personal and romantic moment between them, and they realized it captured exactly the vibe they hoped to have at their wedding.

Drew proposed when it was just the two of us, because he knew I wanted a private moment. Then, after he proposed, everyone else arrived, and I was already wearing the ring! Some of our friends and family already knew he was going to propose, and others were surprised—it was wonderful to see how happy everyone was for us.

Following their engagement, Mari noted that she already had a vision for their nuptials.

She explained they’re aiming for a very small and personal wedding. She wants it to feel special and relaxed, shared only with the people they love most. She doesn’t want the stress of planning to overshadow the joy of getting married, and hopes to feel comfortable and open with their closest family and friends.
