As a seasoned Stalker roaming the forbidden lands of Chernobyl, I’ve seen my share of strange artifacts that either bless or curse us with their mysterious powers. The latest addition to this enigmatic collection is the Artifact list in STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl, and let me tell you, it’s a treasure trove of wonder and woe.
In STALKER 2, anomalies are constant challenges, but they also come with rewards called Artifacts. These peculiar items are frequently found near anomalous zones and offer defensive or resistance boosts, often against the same type of anomaly they were discovered from. With 75 artifacts to select from and just four slots for them in armor, finding the optimal combination can be a tricky decision.
This STALKER 2 guide is all about the best Artifacts and where they can usually be found or farmed.
Compass
A legendary artifact found in gravitational anomalies.
Individuals known as stalkers are convinced that the one who finds and retains the Compass possesses the power to travel securely through the Zone’s riskiest regions.
In the game, the Compass could very likely be among the top gravity Artifacts, yet it’s also potentially harmful to the user. Priced at an impressive 60,000 coupons, this artifact provides maximum physical defense, but simultaneously inflicts maximum radiation. The only methods to counteract this are by using large amounts of Vodka or anti-radiation medications. A trader is the best place to sell it for around one third of its listed value, which translates to approximately 20,000 coupons – a substantial amount in the early stages of the game.
To find a farmable spot, travel east from the Lesser Zone towards Cordon. Upon arrival, proceed towards Rookie Village and then move north to discover the Nuclear Waste Burial site. Keep in mind that you’ll likely sustain damage due to the groups of gravitational Anomalies nearby. If required, a nearby cache can provide some healing assistance.
Hypercube
A legendary artifact found in thermal anomalies.
The true capabilities of this artifact remain unexplored. It broadcasts extremely long radio signals and could possibly be utilized for space exploration navigation.
This Remarkable Fire Artifact provides Top-tier Heat Shielding, Optimal Wound Healing resilience, and also delivers Maximum Radioactive damage. Employing a similar approach as with the Compass, Vodka and anti-radioactivity medication can be effective here.
You can find a Hypercube in multiple spots, one of them is the Garbage area, located north of the Lesser Zone. Move towards the group of thermal abnormalities close to its southeastern border, then use your detector to pinpoint it.
Thunderberry
A legendary artifact found in electro anomalies.
As I’m slowly warmed up to 78 degrees Celsius, it triggers vivid shared fantasies that paint a picture of a perfect world.
The Thunderberry is a legendary electric artifact renowned for providing maximum endurance. However, like all things of great power, it carries a significant drawback: extreme radiation levels.
To farm Thunderberries, head towards the area known as the Cement Factory, which lies to the east of Garbage. Once there, navigate your way to the Reloading Point. On the north-western side of this spot, you’ll come across a group of electro Anomalies that need to be neutralized using bolts. This region is where you’ll find the Thunderberries.
Magic Cube
A rare artifact found in gravitational anomalies.
When exposed to the infrared spectrum, it becomes transparent.
A Legendary gravity Artifact, the Magic Cube trades Strong Physical Protection in exchange for inflicting Maximum Radiation. The Compass is the clear winner here, given that the positive effect gained with it is Maximum Physical Protection for the same level of radiation being received. With the Magic Cube valued at a base of 60000 coupons, it would be best to trade this away as soon as you get the Compass.
The Magic Cube can potentially be farmed in Buryakivka near clusters of gravitational Anomalies.
Weird Ball
One of the well-known “modified artifacts” that are frequently whispered about among explorers gathered near a campfire.
The child’s ball appears unusually heavy. It seems that carrying it reduces the impact of bullets during battles, especially when one remains stationary.
This Remarkable Artifact carries a significant worth of 14000 coupons and is securely hidden within the guardianship of the Bulba Anomaly in the Outlying Region. It is advised to carry Medkits and maintain a low profile, hiding behind cover, as you navigate through the Bulba area. The Peculiar Ball lessens bullet impact when stationary; it does not cause any detrimental side effects.
In S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, these are the top items to outfit yourself with and their locations.
