Awaken Realms Publishing and Byzel, a small development team within Awaken Realms Digital led by Gustaw Stachaszewski (co-creator of the game Darkwood), have revealed a new psychological horror game called HOARDER. The game is planned for release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC (via Steam), but a specific launch date hasn’t been announced yet.
Here is an overview of the game, via Awaken Realms:
To hoard is to possess, to possess is to control. What hope do you have in controlling the truth?
Welcome to HOARDER, a game by a team led by the co-creator of Darkwood, a unique horror experience.
Okay, so I started playing this game, HOARDER, and it seemed pretty chill at first – just cleaning up a mess. But things got weird fast. Now I’m piloting a submarine, diving down to salvage stuff that’s seriously not meant to be found, and trying to figure out what the heck is going on with this place, all while it’s pitch black. It’s gone from a simple cleaning sim to a full-on underwater nightmare!
This game blends adventure and horror, offering a unique experience that doesn’t fit neatly into one category. It starts like a relaxing cleaning game, where you tidy up the cluttered home of a couple who collect things. As you clean, you begin to learn about the house’s past and the people who lived there before. A mystery unfolds, but you decide if you want to investigate. Alternatively, you can earn enough money by cleaning to simply escape and take the vacation of your dreams, ending the game there.
But if players explore thoroughly, they’ll discover a massive secret: a strangely oversized staircase leading underground. Descending it will take them to a place completely different from anything they’ve seen before. The game starts to change, with quests becoming glitched and unclear, and the usual cleaning gameplay disappearing entirely.

The player descends the staircase into a strange facility that serves as the game’s central location. A day-night cycle begins, making the facility feel like a home base. Each day, players explore further, discovering how the facility changes based on both the passage of time and their own choices. They can also pilot a submarine to scan and explore the ocean floor using a LiDAR system. Outside, they’ll find unusual objects that can be salvaged and brought back to base to unlock new areas, improve existing ones, and advance the story.
