Pink is starting the new year on the road to recovery.
The singer of “What About Us” spent New Year’s Day in the hospital, preparing for neck surgery.
In a long Instagram post on December 31st, she announced she’s starting the new year by letting go of past pain. She described the past year as challenging for everyone, with a wide range of difficult and frustrating experiences.
She finished by saying she’s focusing on taking care of her body. While it’s not a cosmetic procedure, she’s having surgery to replace two discs in her neck. She views the resulting scar as a reminder to appreciate and fully utilize her body.
Pink, who has two children – 14-year-old Willow and 8-year-old Jameson – with her husband, Carey Hart, didn’t say exactly how she hurt her neck, but jokingly suggested that life as a rock star can be physically demanding.
Spending New Year’s Eve alone in the hospital while my family enjoys a snowboarding trip, I’m choosing to believe that next year will be better. That’s a decision I’ve made for myself,” said the 46-year-old.
Despite a difficult year, Pink focused on the positive aspects of her life. She was grateful for the simple things, like being able to spend time with her children and support their ambitions. She wants to teach them to embrace life as a grand adventure.

And that’s why the Grammy winner is looking on the bright side despite her hospitalization.
This year, I’m focusing on protecting everyone’s right to make their own decisions and pursue their happiness. I’m choosing to focus on joy and let go of pain, prioritizing positive thinking. I’ll fight to maintain my passion and energy, embrace my true self, and continue to seek hope even during difficult times.

In a message to her fans, she wished them a happy new year, hoping they’d have more happy moments than sad ones, more good times than bad, and more love than hate.

She explained to the doctor that as soon as she finished her current commitments – ‘once the boots are hung up,’ as she put it – she’d return to address the problem and make sure everything looked its best. She wanted to ensure things were presentable for future opportunities, saying, ‘These girls are going to get some action, and they can’t look like that!’

Lupita Nyong’o, known for her role in 12 Years a Slave, received a diagnosis of uterine fibroids—non-cancerous growths in or around the uterus—in 2014, the year she won an Academy Award for her performance in the film.
She didn’t share her diagnosis until 2025, when she revealed on Instagram that she had been privately struggling with it for over ten years.
She explained that many girls are taught from a young age to expect periods to be painful, and to accept that pain as a normal part of womanhood. This often leaves them dealing with a common issue in silence and without support.

In July 2025, the actress from Daisy Jones & The Six revealed she’d been hospitalized for a hernia. This happened because she’d been wearing pants that were too tight, which caused a gap in her abdominal muscles.
She messaged Suki on X (formerly Twitter), saying, “You haven’t tweeted in ages!” Then, jokingly, she added, “I’ve been meaning to tell you… I think those super-tight pants I wore six months ago actually gave me a hernia, and I’ve been too afraid to say anything.”

Adam Devine revealed that injuries from being hit by a cement truck at age 11 continue to cause him problems now.
“It’s been awful,” Devine shared on the In Depth With Graham Bensinger podcast in 2025. “I’ve been having spasms all over my body, and doctors told me recently that I was facing a life-threatening situation—I really thought I was going to die within the last year.”
He acknowledged that pain is often temporary, explaining that his body has some minor imperfections and doesn’t always function perfectly.

A former contestant on The Bachelor went to the hospital because of severe back pain. He said the pain was so bad he had to crawl on his hands and knees, and it got worse during a road trip with a friend.
He described a lingering tingling sensation in his knees and toes during a March 2025 episode of his podcast, Trading Secrets. He explained that just a few weeks or a month prior, he was able to squat 295 pounds, but now he can’t even do a single squat or stand on one leg without falling. He compared the feeling to having a stroke.
But with the help of a back specialist and some steroids, he added, “We’re on the mend.”

I was injured when someone at a party accidentally fired a gun in the wrong direction, and a bullet hit my face,” she explained in an Instagram post. “Brendan Rooney quickly checked me over and drove me to the hospital. I was hit five times, and one bullet came dangerously close to my right eye – less than an inch away.
The former Kim Possible star explained that a small piece of something got stuck behind their eye. Doctors have advised against removing it with surgery right now, and they’ll be closely watching to see if anything changes. Thankfully, their vision is currently normal.
The actress expressed immense gratitude for surviving, saying she cherishes her daughters, husband, family, and friends. Reflecting on a near-death experience, she urged everyone to embrace their loved ones, emphasizing how quickly life can change. She encouraged people to show their affection whenever possible.

Amy Schumer is grateful for the internet, despite its downsides, because it helped her discover a health issue. After noticing she looked “puffier,” Schumer was surprised when doctors began commenting on her appearance online, suggesting she might have Cushing syndrome. They pointed out changes in her face that concerned them. This prompted Schumer to realize she’d been receiving steroid injections after a breast reduction and C-section, which led to the condition. She wouldn’t have known about it otherwise. Schumer recently shared that she’s relieved to learn her type of Cushing syndrome will resolve on its own and that she is healthy, calling it “the greatest news imaginable.”

In December 2024, an AHL player suffered a skate cut during a game, requiring 25 stitches to close the wound. After his son fully recovered, New Jersey Devils General Manager Tom Fitzgerald told ESPN, “We feel very fortunate, and I wouldn’t want any parent to go through that.”

Let me tell you, back in March 2022, I was so worried about Hailey Bieber! She was having breakfast with Justin when she suddenly started having what seemed like a stroke. She shared on YouTube that Justin noticed something was wrong and asked if she was okay, but she couldn’t even respond. She tried to speak, but the right side of her face started to droop and she couldn’t get the words out. Thankfully, it stopped, and her speech came back, but she immediately went to the hospital to get checked out. It turned out she’d had a small blood clot to her brain, which doctors called a TIA. Later, they discovered she had a hole in her heart, a PFO. Apparently, the clot had traveled through that hole and caused the TIA. The good news is she had a successful procedure to close the PFO and is now doing great! It was such a scary time, but I’m so relieved she’s okay.

The same year Hailey faced a health issue, Justin also experienced one. In June 2022, he revealed he had been diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome, which caused temporary paralysis on one side of his face. This forced him to cancel the remaining dates of his Justice World Tour.
In a video posted to Instagram, Justin explained the condition affects nerves in his ear and face, preventing him from blinking, smiling, or moving his nostril on the affected side. He also shared that it became increasingly difficult for him to eat.
Fortunately, the paralysis eventually went away. Hailey shared on Good Morning America that Justin was recovering well, adding that while the situation was frightening and unexpected, he was going to be completely fine and she was thankful he was okay.

Jamie Foxx recently shared details about the health scare he experienced in April 2023, which he had initially kept private. In his 2024 Netflix special, What Had Happened Was…, he explained that he suffered a severe headache one day while in Atlanta. Before he could even take an aspirin, he lost consciousness and doesn’t remember the next 20 days.
Initially, a doctor gave him a cortisone shot and sent him home, but his sister, Deidra Dixon, was worried and took him to the hospital. There, they discovered he had a brain bleed that led to a stroke.
After surgery, Jamie woke up in a wheelchair on May 4th, unable to walk. He then went to Chicago for extensive rehabilitation and therapy. He expressed his gratitude for the prayers he received, saying, “I needed every prayer.”

I was absolutely shocked to hear our favorite reality star say she actually ‘died’ while running the first challenge on the NBC show! It was so intense, she described it as literally dying during that mile run. I couldn’t believe it!
She shared on the show Fit for TV: The Reality of The Biggest Loser that her memory of the event was fragmented. She recalled hearing a helicopter, feeling like she was floating, and then seeing her grandfather. After that, everything went dark, but then she saw light, which led her to realize she had died that day.
She explained that her organs were failing. She hadn’t known she had rhabdomyolysis, a condition where the body essentially begins to shut down.

Emilia Clarke, known for her role in Game of Thrones, revealed a harrowing health battle in a 2019 essay for The New Yorker. While filming the series, she experienced a severe headache while at the gym, followed by intense pain and vomiting. She quickly realized something was seriously wrong with her brain.
A hospital scan revealed she had suffered a subarachnoid hemorrhage, a life-threatening stroke caused by a ruptured aneurysm. She underwent immediate surgery to repair it, describing the pain as unbearable. During her recovery, she experienced aphasia, leaving her unable to speak coherently.
Though she recovered and was discharged after a month, a 2013 scan revealed the aneurysm had doubled in size, requiring a second surgery. This procedure initially failed, leading to a massive bleed and a precarious situation. Doctors had to perform a more invasive surgery, accessing her brain directly through her skull.
Fortunately, Emilia Clarke is now fully recovered and says she is “at a hundred per cent.”

Cori Broadus, Snoop Dogg’s daughter, is thankful for the support of her family. In January 2024, she suffered a stroke and immediately reached out to her loved ones, who quickly came to her aid. She told TopMob News’ Will Marfuggi in December 2024 that everyone rushed to be there for her.
Cori ended up staying in the hospital longer than expected due to other health issues. While she could have gone home after the stroke, she was also dealing with lupus and kidney problems.
Fortunately, Cori is now recovering well. She says she’s doing great and is regaining her motor skills, and is otherwise feeling fine.

Shailene Woodley struggled with significant health issues throughout her early twenties. In a September 2024 podcast interview, she explained that she experienced hearing loss, extreme fatigue – unable to walk for more than five minutes without needing to rest for hours – and constant stomach pain. She faced a confusing array of diagnoses and conflicting advice from doctors.
Determined to find answers, Woodley, who has kept her specific condition private, combined traditional medical care with holistic and herbal remedies. This search for well-being spanned a decade.
She described how the physical discomfort led to deeper issues, including fear of food and struggles with body image, identity, and feeling comfortable in her own body.
Ultimately, Woodley’s health improved, and she is now very healthy. She expressed her happiness to be in a good place after such a long journey.
