It seems strange now, but reality TV winners used to sometimes disappear from the spotlight after their win. These days, most winners of shows like Big Brother quickly leverage their prize money into appearances on other programs like The Challenge, The Traitors, or even soap operas. But a past Big Brother winner, Maggie Ausburn from Season 6, has recently been seen in a photo with a fellow contestant, and fans are buzzing about it – and I agree with what they’re saying!
Maggie was considered a controversial winner back in her day, with many fans despising her Friendship alliance and rooting for underdogs Janelle Pierzina and Kaysar Ridha to pull through instead. That said, as more people watch past seasons of Big Brother online with their Paramount+ subscription, she’s gotten more flowers for how she controlled the game by rallying Houseguests around the memory of her friend and former Houseguest Eric “Cappie” Littmann. All this to say, people were thrilled when her former alliance member, April Lewis, shared a photo with Maggie on her Instagram Stories (via @ThatBigBroTea):
Lots of people agreed with a fan account’s observation that Maggie, the winner of Big Brother in 2005 at age 27, hasn’t changed much in the past twenty years. Here are a few comments, with some also praising April’s appearance.
- I don’t think she’s aged at all, she still has the same smile as well! – @Flicxxity
- Mothers haven’t aged a day! – @Ryan_205133
- Janelle was my favorite that season but Maggie looks absolutely fantastic!😊 – @prairie1967
- WOW she truly does. Amazing. Life has been good to her. – @grannyknowslove
- Holy crap she looks exactly the same – @LavenderElixir1
Honestly, I’m with everyone else – she really hasn’t changed how she looks, and I’m surprised by how many nice comments there are! It’s weird that no one’s really bringing up how tough the Friendship alliance was, or even Janelle’s famous line. It almost makes me wonder… could we actually be seeing a shift, and are Big Brother fans starting to root for Maggie more than against her?

The producers of Big Brother have addressed concerns that the recent ‘BB Blockbuster’ challenge made the game overly competitive, and I strongly agree with their response.
It seems very likely she’d be invited back for a potential all-stars season of Big Brother. A lot of popular former players have expressed interest in a shorter version of the show, but CBS hasn’t decided to make it happen yet.
Maggie has kept a very private life for a long time now. Considering that, I’d guess she’s hesitant about returning to public view on television after more than twenty years. It’s important to remember her season of the show aired before social media like Twitter even existed, and Facebook was just starting out. Today’s reality TV brings a lot of attention, and I wonder how someone who’s avoided that for so long would handle being back in the spotlight.

Paramount+ costs $7.99 per month or $59.99 per year. If you’re a fan of shows like Big Brother, Paramount+ is a great way to catch up on past seasons. They offer two plans: an Essential plan for $7.99/month and an ad-free Premium plan for $12.99/month. For the best value, consider their annual plan to save money while enjoying all your favorite content. See the deal here.
There are currently no plans for a spin-off of Big Brother, so fans don’t need to worry about that right now. CBS has confirmed that the main series will return to television screens in the summer of 2026, and I’m really excited for a new season!
