Dove Cameron and Damiano David‘s romance has just soared to new heights.

The Disney Channel actress and the lead singer of the Italian rock band Måneskin are getting married after dating for two years.

Dove shared a photo of her and her partner gazing at each other, along with a new engagement ring, and wrote, ‘My favourite part of being alive. Happy new year!’ on Instagram on January 3rd.

On October 29th, Dove fueled speculation about an engagement after she was seen with a large, glittering ring on her ring finger while out with Damiano in Sydney, Australia.

Oh my gosh, you guys, did you hear?! They’ve taken things to the next level! And it’s happening right after they celebrated being together for two whole years! I’m seriously losing it – it’s like everything I’ve hoped for is coming true! Two years is such a milestone, and now this?! I can’t even breathe!

Dove shared photos of herself and her partner on Instagram on October 9th, celebrating their two-year anniversary. She wrote about how happy she is, saying she cries happy tears at least once a week because of how wonderful life has become with them. She expressed her deep love, saying it’s beyond words but she’ll always try to express it, and finished with a sweet Italian phrase meaning ‘happy anniversary, my love’.

Damiano’s response? Well, he confirmed their romance is the “best part of being alive.”

They first crossed paths at the 2022 MTV VMAs, where the Descendants actor and the Italian rocker’s band were both up for the Best New Artist award.

Dove Cameron, who received an award, shared with Cosmopolitan in 2024 that she met various artists backstage, but she doesn’t recall actually speaking to Damiano when they crossed paths.

Despite not being able to join them for the initial event because of other commitments, the band later offered Dove the opportunity to open for them on tour, but she turned it down again.

She explained that things just didn’t work out, describing it as a series of missed connections and fleeting opportunities.

At the 2023 VMAs, Dove Cameron and Damiano David, both 26, met again at the same event where they first connected. Damiano invited Dove to join him and his band as they began their world tour at Madison Square Garden, and this time, she accepted. Their relationship quickly grew from there.

Dove described the hours spent backstage as a drawn-out, careful process of getting to know each other through questioning. It felt like a long interview before anyone finally felt comfortable enough to connect more personally, like holding hands.

The former Liv and Maddie star explained that she was immediately struck by how approachable the person seemed. However, after just a few minutes of being around them, she discovered they were incredibly kind, generous, and genuinely good-hearted – a truly beautiful and sensitive person.

In February 2024, the couple first appeared together on the red carpet at Clive Davis’ pre-Grammy party in Beverly Hills. They then attended the Met Gala together three months later.

But ultimately, the couple’s favorite type of night is low-key.

Dove recently shared with Erin Lim Rhodes on TopMob News’ The Rundown that she and her partner are prioritizing a private, normal life. She said they genuinely prefer staying home and enjoying each other’s company more than going out.

“We’re watching Lost,” Dove continued, “6 p.m. the jammies are on.”
