Elaine Knight‘s tumultuous life has become the stuff of legends, a rollercoaster ride that rivals even the most dramatic soap opera arcs.
The last fortnight has been quite eventful for the pub landlady, Elaine Knight, portrayed by Harriet Thorpe on EastEnders.
After successfully rescuing her daughter from the edge of ruin caused by her alcohol addiction, a usually cheerful woman unexpectedly learned that her son-in-law had been having an affair with her former partner. Quite a tangled situation!
However, another unfortunate development arose as Elaine discovered a complex emotional dynamic between George (Colin Salmon) and Cindy (Michelle Collins), which seemed to remain unspoken. This was hinted at when she observed George angrily scolding his son for taking something “his.
In a private chat with George upstairs in The Vic, Elaine gave her husband a right old slap for what he said, insisting Junior (Micah Balfour) and Cindy were grown adults and he shouldn’t be as bothered as he is.
Elaine powerfully kicked her man to the curb for his actions, but the whole event shattered the entire Knight family.
During the Christmas special, things took an unexpected turn when Cindy was brutally struck with a shovel, leaving everyone to ponder the mystery: who could have possibly done such a thing? (And it seems more appropriate to ask, who didn’t!)
