Allison Holker’s teenage daughter, Weslie, has stepped forward in defense of her mother following the criticism after Allison shared details about her husband Stephen “tWitch” Boss’ suicide. In a heartfelt 30-minute Instagram Live session on January 10th, Weslie spoke up to clarify matters and protect her family from online harassment. Apart from Weslie, the couple also shared two other children: Maddox (8) and Zaia (5).
Weslie expressed her frustration over the negative comments directed at her mother who is grieving the loss of her beloved partner. She stated, “I feel it’s important for things to be addressed, and I would rather it come from me to defend my family than anyone else.” Weslie added, “I’m tired of receiving hateful comments and seeing my mom get hate when she’s lost the person she loves. This is their father; this is who they will grow up looking at on social media, and it’s hurtful.”
Despite not being legally adopted by Stephen, he was the one who raised Weslie throughout her life. “He never made me feel anything but his daughter,” she said. “I believe that shows the kind of person he was.
In essence, it was revealed that Weslie turned to Stephen for help with everything since he came into her life when she was only three years old.
She went on to say, ‘He’s the one I’d turn to when I cried.’ Every morning, we’d share breakfast together, and he was always there for me after work. We spent most of our time inside the same house. Now, I’m receiving hateful comments about him leaving, and I can’t understand it. It’s just more pain added to my hurt.
As I delve deeper into the release of my upcoming memoir, “This Far,” I found myself shedding light on the alleged struggles with addiction that Stephen has faced. In doing so, I’ve shared insights from his personal journal entries, actions, and accusations that have sparked debate among his family. However, my intention behind this disclosure is not to stir controversy but rather to bring attention to the pressing issues of substance abuse and mental health awareness—a cause that I am deeply passionate about, as I’m sure Weslie would agree.
During her Instagram Live, Weslie stated, “People are calling my mother a murderer. They claim she’s greedy for money and seeks more fame. However, let me tell you, that’s not the kind of person my mom is.
Weslie clarified that her mother didn’t label her late father as an addict, but he was open about using marijuana. She added that her mother wasn’t judging him harshly for this, but after two years since his suicide, she felt it was worth questioning their past interactions and his frequent use of marijuana to see if there were any signs she might have missed.
She additionally clarified the reason behind having her mother’s friends and relatives agree to a Non-Disclosure Agreement prior to the funeral in January 2023.
Weslie said, “My mom requested us to sign Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) when we viewed Stephen’s body, as a precaution against anyone who attended taking his picture and uploading it online or sharing it with others. This is the purpose of NDAs. They are not to prevent us from ever discussing Stephen.
Indeed, she appreciates Allison for incorporating the necessary documents. Yet, she mentioned that her mother showed understanding when someone declined to put their signature.
The teenager shared that her mother remains kind, understanding, and forgiving, as she always has been. However, it’s worth noting that during Stephen’s lifetime, attendees of our events were required to sign Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs). Now, while it’s her mom handling the paperwork, there’s a difference that finds itself quite annoying for her.
Personally, I’ve chosen to keep some distance from my stepfamily, but my brothers and sisters make it a point to stay connected, regardless of the miles between us. They regularly visit them, even though they reside in different parts of the country.
Weslie stated, “I’ve gradually been distancing myself from them as they don’t make me feel at ease, and it’s my mom who is putting in the effort and feeling compelled to meet with them because she cares. There’s a common assumption that my mom isn’t making an effort or that the kids are being kept away from Stephen’s family. Not true. In fact, I’ve spent more time with them than when Stephen was still alive.
In the end, she said all the drama was unnecessary.
She remarked, “It seems we won’t be able to retrieve Stephen again. His decision was regrettable, and I fear it will forever linger in my thoughts.
