With numerous properties spread throughout the U.S., Melania Trump will have a variety of options when deciding where to establish residence after President-elect Donald Trump takes his oath of office.
However, according to the First Lady, “I will be in the White House.”
Additionally, she plans to spend some time in New York City with her son, Barron Trump, as he is currently a freshman at New York University’s Stern School of Business.
Melania, who owns properties in New York City’s Trump Tower and Florida’s Mar-a-Lago Club, stated on Fox & Friends (during an interview that aired on January 13) that when she needs to be in New York, she will be there. Similarly, when she requires being in Palm Beach, she will be in Palm Beach.
As an ardent admirer, let me say, she emphasized her commitment to being a mother, a First Lady, and a partner. Yet, she wisely pointed out that once inaugurated on the 20th of January, the duty shifts towards serving the nation.
Indeed, Melania has commenced the selection of furnishings for the Trump family’s upcoming residence at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, as they are no strangers to life there.
Melania mentioned that their first experience at the White House was tough, but this time around she feels prepared. She has a plan in place and her belongings are ready to be moved over.
However, Melania mentioned that some adjustments are expected in the decor due to their previous residence no longer being their current home, as their eldest son, aged 18, has relocated for college studies.
She mentioned that he plans to stop by, and further noted that Barron’s college companions are also invited to the White House. She expressed her admiration for Barron’s opinions and preferences, regarding both his affirmative responses and negative ones, as well as his personal choices about where he enjoys spending time.
As for how her son is handling college?
In simpler terms, Melania stated on Fox & Friends in September that her husband chose to come to New York because he desires to study, reside, and have a home there. She expressed respect for his decision.
Likewise, Barron’s dad is happy that he’s landed at NYU.
The 79-year-old shared with the Daily Mail in that month, “He has an exceptional talent for his age, but he is no longer a youngster now. He’s moved past being just a child; he’s thriving in something greater than childhood.

Ivana Trump was the initial spouse of the future President Donald Trump. Born in Gottwaldov, Czechoslovakia (now Zlín, Czech Republic) in 1949, she gained prominence as a skilled skier. Married to Austrian ski instructor Alfred Winklmayr in 1971, Ivana had the opportunity to travel frequently beyond Czechoslovakia.
In her book “Raising Trump,” Ivana recounts that she met Donald three years after her divorce from Winklmayr in 1973 during a New York trip, which she took for a Canadian fashion show before the Montreal Olympics. They tied the knot in 1977 and together they had three children: Donald Trump Jr., born in 1977, Ivanka Trump, born in 1981, and Eric Trump, born in 1984.
The divorce of the couple was officially completed in 1992, after his romantic involvement with Marla Maples, whom he later wedded. Interestingly, Ivana went on to marry Riccardo Mazzucchelli for two years and Rossano Rubicondi for a short period, but she maintained a cordial relationship with Donald throughout.
In 2017, she shared with ABC News that Donald behaved harshly during their divorce. He viewed it as a business transaction and felt he couldn’t lose. Consequently, the process took approximately two years. Once everything was settled, they resumed talking and have remained friends since then.
Tragically, Ivana passed away in 2022 at the age of 73. As reported by NBC News, the New York City Medical Examiner concluded that her death was due to “blunt impact injuries” and labeled it an accident. A high-ranking NYC official, privy to the details, stated that the circumstances suggested she had fallen down the stairs in her New York apartment.
In the year 1977, Ivana and Donald Trump gave birth to their first-born child, commonly known as Donald Trump Junior. He commenced working for his father’s company, The Trump Organization, in the year 2001, holding the position of executive vice president currently. Donald Jr. has also been an active participant in his father’s political endeavors, such as speaking at rallies and addressing the Republican National Convention during his dad’s presidential bids.
He has five children with his former wife, model Vanessa Haydon: Kai (who addressed the 2024 Republican National Convention), Donald III, Tristan, Spencer, and Chloe. As of now, Donald Junior is engaged to Kimberly Guilfoyle, a former anchor at Fox News.
Four years following Don Jr.’s arrival, Donald and Ivana welcomed their daughter, who is known as Ivanka Trump. Before her father’s presidency, this University of Pennsylvania graduate worked at The Trump Organization. However, upon his election in 2016, the founder of a fashion brand—who also had her own label—assumed the position of Advisor to the President.
Following her father’s announcement that he would run for president again in 2024, Ivanka declared she would be withdrawing from politics to concentrate on her family with her husband, former White House senior advisor Jared Kushner, and their children: Arabella, Joseph, and Theodore. In part of a 2022 statement obtained by NBC News, she stated, “I have deep affection for my father. At this time, I am opting to prioritize my young children and the personal life we are constructing as a family. I do not intend to engage in politics.
Eric Trump, born in 1984, is the third offspring of Ivana and Donald. Similar to his brother, he serves as executive vice president for The Trump Organization, a role he assumed in 2007. He’s married to Republican National Committee co-chair Lara Trump, and together they have children named Luke and Carolina.
Marla Maples is Donald’s second wife, whom he met while still married to Ivana.
In her book “Raising Trump”, Ivana claimed that the actress brought up the affair to her during a trip to Aspen in 1989, but Marla asserted on an episode of the ABC podcast “Journeys of Faith with Paula Faris” in 2018 that she didn’t consider herself a mistress. She added, “I never intended to cause pain.” If only we could have been together after his divorce was finalized, she said, it would have spared so much heartache. However, that wasn’t the way things turned out. Marla and Donald had daughter Tiffany in 1993, got married later that year, but separated four years later and legally divorced in 1999.
Following her parents’ divorce, Tiffany Trump decided to leave New York and settle with her mother in California. In 2016, she explained to People magazine that the move was aimed at providing her with a more ordinary upbringing and allowing her to develop her own identity beyond being associated with her famous name or dealing with excessive pressure. She described her mother’s efforts as successful.
Tiffany Trump released her single “Like a Bird” in 2011 and graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a B.A. in sociology, focusing on law and society, in 2016. Afterward, she attended Georgetown Law School, where she earned her JD in 2020.
In 2022, Tiffany married Michael Boulos. During a speech at the Detroit Economic Club in October 2024, her father announced that they were expecting their first child. He praised Tiffany as an exceptional young woman during his remarks.
Melania, who was born in Mesto, Slovenia in 1970, is the third wife of Donald and will soon be the First Lady of the United States. Interestingly, she is the second First Lady to hail from outside the U.S., and uniquely, she became a naturalized U.S. citizen.
In 1996, Melania crossed paths with Donald in New York City where she was modeling. Recalling their first encounter on an episode of On the Record With Greta Van Susteren, she mentioned that it happened at a fashion event organized by a friend. “That’s how I met Donald,” she said.
Melania tied the knot with Donald in 2005, and the couple welcomed their son, Barron Trump, the following year.
Born in 2006, Barron Trump is the sole child of Donald and Melania. Despite living a relatively private life, having moved from New York to Washington D.C., then Florida, there was speculation that he might venture into politics, as he was selected as a Florida delegate for the Republican National Convention in May 2024. However, Barron chose not to accept this position due to prior engagements.
It was reported by Melania’s office to NBC News that “While Barron is proud to have been chosen by the Florida Republican Party, he declines the offer regrettably due to previously scheduled commitments.”
In 2024, it seems that Barron will be focusing on his studies instead, as he has started his freshman year at New York University. According to an interview with the Daily Mail published on September 4, “He was accepted by numerous colleges,” Donald stated, “He’s a very intelligent young man and will be attending NYU’s Stern School of Business, which is an excellent school.
