Dragon Quest 11: Echoes of an Elusive Age is Being Temporarily Delisted on the Switch eShop

The “Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age – Definitive Edition” will temporarily vanish from the Nintendo Switch’s online marketplace in the near future.

Square Enix has shared on the Dragon Quest Twitter account that as of February 1st, the game will become momentarily inaccessible from the eShop. They plan to make some slight modifications to the store listing at this time.

Square Enix hasn’t specified the exact updates they plan to make, but based on their past releases, we can make an educated guess. For instance, titles like Triangle Strategy and Octopath Traveler were temporarily removed from the eShop, a move that was likely made to transfer the publishing rights for both games from Nintendo to Square Enix.

Just as with the two previous titles mentioned, Nintendo published Dragon Quest 11 outside of Japan and is currently listed as its publisher on the eShop in relevant regions. It’s possible that the game has been removed from sale (delisted), which would mean it would switch back to Square Enix as its publisher at a later time.

Square Enix hasn’t specified for how long “Dragon Quest 11” will be unavailable on the eShop, but they have guaranteed that players who already own the game can continue playing it without encountering any problems.
