Today’s episode of Coronation Street, which aired on January 8th, 2026, continued to explore the aftermath of the events at Corriedale.

Everyone was focused on Debbie Webster, portrayed by Sue Devaney, as her brother, Carl (Jonathan Howard), was revealed to have caused the crash.

He was driving under the influence when the crash happened. After the impact, he quickly moved Debbie into the driver’s seat and then fled the scene.

In today’s episode, Debbie was intensely questioned by police, who were determined to uncover what really happened.

Despite her memory problems from dementia, Debbie tried her best to remember what happened, though she often got confused. It was clear she was determined not to blame her brother, even if she had her own reasons for being hesitant.

After Debbie got back, the family started to face the reality of her upcoming court date and what it could mean for her future.

Carl couldn’t have picked a worse moment to show up unexpectedly and ask Debbie if he could stay with her while he recovered from a heart attack.

Kevin pleaded with Debbie not to let her brother stay, but she felt she couldn’t refuse him and allowed him to remain.

Kevin warned, “You’ll go to jail because of him.”

Will she?
