While fans are waiting for the upcoming reboot on Disney+, it’s a perfect opportunity to revisit some of the best seasons from the show’s history – and it’s surprisingly easy to do without spending any money!

You will see some ads, but these platforms are great for revisiting classic seasons. If you’re not sure where to start, here’s a guide to seven shows that represent the best of what the Power Rangers franchise has to offer.

7). Power Rangers RPM (Tubi, Pluto TV)

It’s interesting to note that Power Rangers RPM was the last season produced under Disney’s ownership, bringing a unique era to a close. This season feels distinct from both earlier and later installments, and could offer a glimpse of what a future Power Rangers series made entirely for Disney+ might look like. The story begins with a post-apocalyptic world where the remaining humans are forced to live inside a protected city, as machines have conquered the planet.

As a huge Power Rangers fan, I was so relieved when one last team showed up to fight for the future! It felt like a really amazing, epic finale for Disney’s run with the show, and thankfully, it wasn’t the end of Power Rangers altogether – we still got more adventures after that!

6). Power Rangers In Space (Tubi, Pluto TV)

Interestingly, Power Rangers In Space was initially intended to be the last season of the show. Luckily, strong ratings ensured its continuation for many years. This season marked the end of the Zordon era and brilliantly combined elements from all previous Power Rangers series into an epic, galaxy-spanning war that nearly destroyed Earth. The scope of In Space was unprecedented, showcasing the ambitious vision the creators had for the show from the beginning, and it successfully delivered on those big ideas.

5). Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue (Tubi, Pluto TV)

While not as expansive as some other season finales, Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue is a really strong, self-contained story. You don’t need to know much about the previous or future seasons to enjoy it – it’s a simple fight between heroes and demons. Plus, it features Carter Grayson, widely considered one of the best Red Rangers ever, a firefighter who preferred using his blaster over hand-to-hand combat.

He fearlessly charges into battle, even against huge monsters, which is really exciting to watch. What makes this series special is that it introduced a completely new Ranger not found in the original Japanese version. This character has since become a significant part of the Power Rangers legacy.

4). Power Rangers Jungle Fury (Tubi)

If you’re looking for a self-contained Power Rangers season to start with, Power Rangers Jungle Fury is a great choice, and it introduces a unique team of Rangers. What sets it apart is its focus on martial arts – while fighting has always been important in Power Rangers, Jungle Fury is the only season that centers around a martial arts dojo and its students.

In Power Rangers Jungle Fury, a powerful, ancient evil destroys a martial arts school, forcing three students to go into hiding and train until they’re ready to fight back. The series features RJ, widely considered one of the best teachers in the Power Rangers franchise, and stands out for its uniquely choreographed action sequences.

3). Power Rangers Dino Thunder (Tubi)

Power Rangers Dino Thunder was a special entry in the Disney years of the show because it brought back Jason David Frank as Tommy Oliver. He took on a mentor role for a new team of young Rangers, and his dinosaur research unlocked a new source of power. While it’s a good series on its own, it’s especially enjoyable for longtime Power Rangers fans, as it includes several nods to the show’s history.

This is the only Power Rangers series to directly acknowledge its Japanese Super Sentai origins in an episode, really emphasizing where it came from. It was a clever way to update the show for the 2000s, and it hasn’t quite captured that same unique feel since.

2). Power Rangers Time Force (Tubi, Pluto TV)

Power Rangers Time Force is a great starting point for anyone new to the series. It has a really interesting premise: a team of future time-traveling police officers go back 1,000 years to stop a dangerous criminal. The show offers a lot to unpack, with compelling characters, complex villains, and an in-depth look at the future police force.

This series delved into more mature themes than any previous Power Rangers installment. While still aimed at kids, it gave its characters surprisingly complex storylines – exploring tricky relationships, self-doubt, and feelings of inadequacy, which made for compelling viewing.
