Similarly, Daniel Green of Cinevue gave the film a 2 out of 5 star rating, stating that even Olsen’s strong performance couldn’t save it from being a disappointing and ineffective thriller.

A Reddit user agreed with the criticism, saying neither the original film nor the remake were particularly enjoyable for them. However, they felt the original was much better. They described the American remake as overly simplified, losing the suspense of the original by explaining everything to the audience instead of letting them figure things out. While praising Elizabeth Olsen’s performance, they ultimately found the remake lacked the mystery that made the original compelling.
