Dragon Ball Daima: Even Villains Get Happy Endings in a Surprising Twist!

In every installment of Dragon Ball, it’s always Goku and the gang who save the day, vanquishing the evil forces and partying in triumph. Yet, in Dragon Ball Daima, things take an unexpected twist as even our villains find their own happy endings! Unlike previous series where they often met their demise or faded into obscurity, here they too get a storybook ending. Even those like Pilaf who usually cause nothing but trouble, find themselves in a blissful future. It’s a rare treat to witness such resolution for our notorious adversaries!

In the series Daima, the major antagonists weren’t as wickedly evil as the primary villains in Dragon Ball Z, such as Frieza or Cell. Gomah, the main adversary and greatest threat to Daima, was far less malicious compared to these characters. The villains in Daima align with a lighter tone, and their final fates are handled more compassionately than other antagonists. When Frieza was sliced in half or Cell disintegrated into ashes in Dragon Ball Z, it felt incredibly relieving due to the sheer evil of these characters. Conversely, seeing the villains in Daima meet untimely deaths in gruesome ways would not be as fulfilling. Even Gomah and Degesu, who appeared to suffer the worst fate among all the antagonists, arguably had a more favorable outcome given the slide show at the end credits.

Gomah and Degesu Enjoy a Blissful New Life

In simpler terms, if there were villains who truly deserved a fate similar to Cell’s, it would be Gomah and Degesu from “Dragon Ball Daima”. These two bad guys planned to swipe the Earth Dragon Balls so that Gomah could awaken the Evil Third Eye, increasing his power and holding onto his title as the Demon King. Even though he’s small in stature, Gomah turned out to be a significant threat to our heroes, growing as powerful as Jiren when using the full might of the Evil Third Eye. Degesu is Gomah’s faithful follower and happens to be the brother of the Supreme Kai, but he’s not nearly as good-hearted as him.

Despite their worst deeds being primarily rooted in turning Earth’s heroes into children and ruling poorly, Gomah is largely a comical villain due to his small stature and exaggerated personality that makes him less intimidating. Considering the turmoil in the Demon Realm under Gomah’s reign, it seems just that he met his end at the hands of Super Saiyan 4 Goku. However, instead of meeting his demise, Gomah and Degesu are imprisoned within a bottle much like King Piccolo was trapped in the Rice Cooker in the original Dragon Ball series.

From what I’ve observed, despite the harsh circumstances that befall Gomah and Degesu, the final slideshow hints at them residing in a mystical location boasting a stunning lighthouse and breathtaking landscapes. Though it seems they might be trapped within a bottle forever, their abode offers video games, a resting place, and all the essentials one could desire. Why yearn for the Demon Realm when you can dwell in a paradise that grants you everything you could ever wish for, rent-free?

The Other Dragon Ball Daima Villains Got Want They Wanted

In the series Daima, Dr. Arinsu, who is the sister to the Supreme Kai and serves as the secondary antagonist, exhibited a more sly and controlling nature, making her the mastermind behind much of the villainy. Despite this, she wasn’t overtly malicious and managed to achieve her objectives. Dr. Arinsu sought power, aiming to seize control of the Demon Realm by ousting Gomah. However, after Gomah’s downfall, it was Majin Kuu who assumed leadership of the Demon Realm. Fortunately for Dr. Arinsu, Kuu bestowed upon her the title of “Vice-King,” effectively making her a co-ruler of the realm. Since Kuu lacks intelligence, Dr. Arinsu is likely to be calling most of the shots, thereby fulfilling her desire for power.

In the realm of Demons, it was Neva – the lone surviving Namekian – who assisted Gomah and Degesu in locating Earth’s Dragon Balls. Contrary to popular belief, however, Neva wasn’t an adversary in “Dragon Ball Daima”. Instead, he often offered valuable insights that helped characters like Goku and the rest of the group. Interestingly enough, Neva played a crucial role in Goku’s transformation into Super Saiyan 4 during his battle against Gomah. Later on, he rose to become a minister under Supreme Demon King Kuu and Vice-King Dr. Arinsu, thereby ensuring that Namekians had a strong presence within the Demon Realm.

As a dedicated Dragon Ball fan, I must say that I thoroughly enjoy the refreshing shift in tone provided by “Dragon Ball Daima.” Unlike the high-stakes battles we’re accustomed to, this installment presents fans with an engaging conflict where everyone emerges victorious and improved. While some may crave the grittier elements of Dragon Ball Z’s most intense arcs, it’s a delightful change to witness villains receive their own storylines, ultimately transforming for the better.
