Just before Christmas, Ubisoft made an update to their 2016 game, The Division, allowing it to run at 60 frames per second on the PlayStation 5.
The French publisher is known for continuing to update its software even long after it’s released, and we were especially impressed with their recent support for their older New York-based game where players collect loot.
A banner advertising The Division: Definitive Edition has appeared in Japan. This timing aligns with a Ubisoft-sponsored esports event happening this week in Shinjuku, Tokyo.
It’s honestly unclear why the company decided to release a Definitive Edition of The Division. They’re still actively updating the sequel with new content, and they just made the original game playable on newer consoles.
It could be a release on a different system, such as the Switch 2. That would explain the focus on the Japanese market, we think.
