How Pregnant Hailee Steinfeld Found a Winning Teammate in Josh Allen

Despite being about 42,500 football fields away from each other, Hailee Steinfeld and her husband, Josh Allen, always make an effort to support one another.

Shortly after leading the Buffalo Bills to a playoff win against the Jacksonville Jaguars on January 11th, the quarterback focused on something even more important – a heartwarming moment that became the highlight of his day.

The NFL player shared a photo of the pregnant actress from the Golden Globes, where she wore a stunning Prada gown, and reacted with emojis showing his admiration.

Although the 29-year-old couldn’t be with his wife of seven months at the ceremony, which was hosted by Nikki Glaser, because he was playing a match in Florida, he did receive a mention when the star of The Edge of Seventeen presented an award at the event in Beverly Hills.

An announcer introduced Hailee Steinfeld, star of Sinners, and congratulated her on the Buffalo Bills’ victory. Steinfeld, along with Ayo Edebiri, then took the stage to present the award for Best Limited Series, Anthology Series, or Television Movie.

As for her squad, Sinners went on to accept two of the seven awards it was nominated for. 

Though, of course, the 29-year-old actress isn’t the only one heaving up game-winners. 

The NFL’s Most Valuable Player from last season shared in June that while he’s proud of all his achievements, his greatest accomplishment is marrying his best friend.

Honestly, after seeing that incredible moment, it felt right that he and Hailee would share something even bigger together. It was so lovely to hear their announcement in December – they’re expecting a baby, and I couldn’t be happier for them! It just feels like the perfect next chapter.

Hailee shared the news with a video on her Beau Society Substack, showing Josh kissing her baby bump.

Okay, so I’ve been obsessed with finding out their baby’s name, and I think I finally cracked it! Hailee dropped the biggest hint on her Substack a few days ago – a picture of a knitted sweater with ‘Baby Beau’ on it! Apparently, it’s a super personal thing. She shared in her newsletter that when she was born, her parents couldn’t decide between Hailee and Bailee, so they started calling her ‘Hailee Beau Bailee’ and eventually just ‘Beau’! It’s the sweetest thing, and I’m officially convinced that’s the name! I can’t wait!

Even months after their beautiful wedding in Santa Barbara in May 2025, the actress still felt overwhelmed with love, describing the venue as if it was filled with romance. She continued to feel grateful to have found her perfect life partner.

Hailee recently told Bustle that the stability she feels in her relationship is something she can’t put into words. She expressed immense gratitude for finding her partner, calling it “the greatest thing in the world” and saying it’s brought clarity and meaning to her life. While she wasn’t ready to share details, she also hinted at a potential expansion of their close circle, adding that being with him is helping her become the person she’s always envisioned.

And they’ve reached that place together.

Josh said in June that she simplifies his life, allowing him to not worry about other things. He believes choosing her was the most important and correct decision he’s ever made.

And it’s not as if the proposal was some wild Hail Mary.

Josh told Beau Society in December 2024 that he felt incredibly lucky to be engaged to someone so wonderful. He described his fiancée as special, loving, caring, beautiful, and fun, jokingly offering to continue listing all her amazing qualities.

I was absolutely loving hearing the athlete talk about the proposal, but it sounds like they’re choosing to keep the exact details to themselves for now, which I totally respect! He did share a bit about how he was feeling beforehand, though, and that was so sweet. It was fun to get a peek into all the anticipation!

Josh laughed, recalling, “The funniest part was waking up and getting ready for brunch when you suddenly jumped on the bed and asked, ‘Can we get married already? What are you waiting for?’ I just told you to give me a little more time. You had no idea I was about to propose!”

And he’s just glad nobody fumbled the surprise.

“I was very nervous,” the University of Wyoming alum added. “I think I was most nervous about you finding out about the proposal. It was hard to keep secrets from you and have other people in your life keep secrets from you. Then multiple times throughout the day a song would come on and I would tear up thinking about how special our day was going to be.”

Hailee and Josh shared a picture on Instagram of their engagement—Josh proposed on one knee in front of flowers, candles, and the ocean at sunset—and it was a huge success!

In the newsletter, he excitedly explained that he’d told her he couldn’t wait to start a family with her. He’d even used her full name and politely asked, saying ‘please’.

But no need to beg for a recap on Hailee and Josh’s love story.

Rumors of a romance between the two began in May 2023 when they were seen having dinner in New York City. Just under two months later, photos surfaced of them kissing in Mexico, leading fans to believe they were a couple.

Although, Josh wasn’t thrilled the paparazzi intercepted their privacy.

He admitted on the August 2023 episode of the Pardon My Take podcast that he was surprised anyone was still discussing the incident. He described seeing photos of them on a boat and feeling disturbed, explaining it made him feel insecure and like there was no privacy. He wondered what they were thinking.

Josh and Hailee generally kept their personal life private, but they were often seen together in public. Hailee frequently attended Josh’s games to support him, and they both enjoyed going to Buffalo Sabres hockey games as a couple.

Over time, the actress and the NFL player started sharing more about their lives with fans. They appeared in videos posted by each other’s families, shared photos from a trip to Paris, and posted pictures from their Halloween party, which had a circus theme.

Okay, seriously, watching Hailee and Josh support each other is everything! He had her with him at the NFL Honors in February and called her his rock – his ROCK! – and his best friend, which just melted my heart. And then she was there for him at the premiere of Sinners in April! They’re just the sweetest, always there for each other’s big moments, and it’s honestly the cutest thing ever. I can’t get enough of their support for one another!

Her husband’s support ‘means everything’ to her, the Pitch Perfect star shared with TopMob News. She expressed immense pride in him, not just during his season but every day, and is thankful they can experience this journey together.

As Hailee and Josh navigate the increased public interest in their lives, they’ll probably be deciding for themselves what information they want to share and when.

As a longtime fan, it’s amazing to see how much people care about what she’s up to, but I think sometimes it’s hard for everyone to understand that celebrities, like all of us, need their privacy. She’s always been a very private person, and I really appreciate that she only shares what she wants to, and that her fans are so supportive of her when she does.

And in this season of life, she’s leaning even harder into her off-camera existence.

Our careers are both very demanding and unpredictable, but it actually works out well,” she told Variety in October. “I make an effort to schedule my time so I can be with him whenever possible.

While Josh is focused on football season, I enjoy relaxing, spending time with him, and enjoying life. But when the season ends, that’s when I really get going with my own activities.

Even though her hit song ‘Sinners’ will likely get her invited to many award shows, she’s realized she values having some downtime.

She confessed she was experiencing a new phase of life, one separate from her career. She’d also learned to appreciate slowing down and enjoying that with another person.

The NFL player publicly confirmed his relationship with his partner by sharing photos on Instagram, including a picture taken at the Eiffel Tower, on July 23rd.

Included in that same post, the “Starving” singer squeezed in for a photo with Josh’s family. 

Reporter Kay Adams, on her show Up & Adams, playfully nicknamed him “Mr. Hard Launch.” When asked about his relationship with Hailee, he shyly responded, “We love love.”

Hailee and Josh announced their engagement on Instagram on November 29, 2024, with a photo of Josh proposing and Hailee accepting with a kiss. They revealed they got engaged on November 22, 2024.

 

Josh and Hailee quickly became a public couple, appearing together on the red carpet at the NFL Honors just months after getting engaged. While accepting his MVP award, Josh lovingly acknowledged Hailee in his speech.

He told her she was his constant support and closest friend, and that he wouldn’t have been able to achieve this moment without her.

The couple exchanged vows in a beautiful California wedding. The bride wore a strapless gown with elegant elbow-length gloves.
