Even though 2026 is just beginning, the Pokémon Trading Card Game is already off to a strong start. The release of its newest expansion, Ascended Heroes, which focuses on Mega Evolution, is rapidly approaching.

This new card expansion, like previous sets featuring Mega Evolution and Phantasmal Flames, is already generating a lot of buzz with over 290 cards to collect.

When does Pokémon TCG Ascended Heroes come out?

The Pokémon Trading Card Game’s Ascended Heroes expansion, part of the Mega Evolution set, will be released on Friday, January 30th, 2026.

Although it was just announced late last year, the new Pokémon card expansion is coming out quickly! Trainers can start adding these new cards to their collections by the end of the month.

Where to buy Pokémon TCG Ascended Heroes

You can now pre-order the Ascended Heroes expansion from popular Pokémon TCG retailers like the Pokémon Center (UK & US), Amazon, Walmart, Magic Madhouse, Best Buy, and Target, which typically carry booster packs, Elite Trainer Boxes, and other collections.

You can also find Ascended Heroes Pokémon cards on trading card game websites like TCGPlayer. Be aware that these cards tend to be more expensive on these sites due to limited availability and high demand, meaning prices are often higher than at regular stores.

UK Pokémon TCG collectors will have a chance to buy products from the Ascended Heroes set at the regular retail price thanks to Amazon’s lottery system. However, the listings for the set aren’t available on Amazon UK yet.

If a new Pokémon set is popular in the UK, Amazon UK often lets customers sign up to be considered for a chance to buy it. If selected randomly, they’ll be invited to purchase the product – like the Ascended Heroes Elite Trainer Box – at the regular price of about £50 to £55.

While some Pokémon card collectors might not be able to purchase the Ascended Heroes set immediately, this approach helps stop bots and resellers from buying up all the stock and then selling it for much higher prices.

What Pokémon cards to expect from Ascended Heroes

The Pokémon TCG’s upcoming Ascended Heroes expansion, which will include around 290 cards, is set to introduce new Pokémon for Trainers to use, as well as Stellar Tera Pokémon and powerful new Mega Pokémon ex cards. While the complete card list isn’t available yet, The Pokémon Company has announced these details about the release.

The set will feature powerful Pokémon like Mega Charizard Y ex, Mega Gengar ex, Mega Dragonite, Koraidon ex, Team Rocket’s Exeggutor, and Azumarill ex.
