Tatiana Maslany’s MCU Future’s Fate Has Been Sealed (Report), Actress Is Out as She-Hulk

It appears Marvel’s Kevin Feige is scaling back She-Hulk’s role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Following the debut of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law on Disney+ in 2022, the character’s future was uncertain, but now it seems less promising for actress Tatiana Maslany, who plays Bruce Banner’s gamma-powered cousin.

Rumors started circulating weeks ago about a possible departure of Tatiana Maslany from Marvel. Now, according to a recent report from The Beyond Reporter, it seems Maslany is no longer with Marvel – a surprising development that could leave the future of her She-Hulk character uncertain.

Currently, Marvel hasn’t officially announced whether She-Hulk will appear in future projects. However, they haven’t ruled it out either, and there’s still time for Tatiana Maslany and Marvel to reach an agreement. This could potentially lead to her involvement in the upcoming Avengers: Secret Wars movie, scheduled for release in December 2027.

Okay, so the buzz is that Tatiana Maslany probably won’t be back as She-Hulk, which is a real shame. I loved what she brought to the role – that fun, powerful, but still relatable vibe she had playing opposite Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk was fantastic. It basically means any future appearances will need a new actress, and that’s always tough. It also seems like that little Daredevil crossover we saw in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law is officially a one-time thing. Disney’s apparently decided that connection isn’t going anywhere, and honestly, I’m a bit confused why they’re shutting it down.

She-Hulk Went to War with Disney, and Lost

Many expected to see She-Hulk return, perhaps in the first season of Daredevil: Born Again, or at least have plans for her appearance in the second season. However, with the show now scheduled for release on Disney+ in March 2026, there’s been no sign of her at all. Marvel Studios seems to be avoiding Tatiana Maslany, the actress who played She-Hulk, and some speculate this is because of her public criticism of Disney following an incident involving Jimmy Kimmel.

In 2025, Jimmy Kimmel faced suspension after making contentious remarks about the death of Charlie Kirk. Following this, Tatiana Maslany, a prominent supporter of Kirk, publicly protested on Instagram on September 18th. She posted a photo of herself in her She-Hulk motion capture suit, urging fans to cancel their subscriptions to Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN. She directly tagged all three streaming services to maximize the impact of her protest.

Is Tatiana Maslany Headed to the DCU?

After three months, fans are still debating the fate of She-Hulk. Some worry the show is failing, while others speculate that Tatiana Maslany’s personal issues – and her public request for Disney to cancel the show – might be the reason for its struggles, a scenario many find unsurprising.

Simply put, they made her angry, and they didn’t like her when she was angry.

It’s unlikely we’ll see a return for Tatiana Maslany’s character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The fact that Scarlett Johansson, who publicly disagreed with Disney over the release of Black Widow, isn’t being brought back for the upcoming Avengers films, and has instead moved to other projects, suggests Marvel isn’t keen on reconciliation. However, Maslany might follow a similar path, joining the growing number of actors finding success outside of the Marvel universe.

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law is currently streaming on Disney+ (for now, at least).
