After being put on hold following a failed Kickstarter in 2015, the turn-based RPG Cross Reverie is making a comeback. Developed by Sinxsoft in Montreal, the game now has a Steam page and is slated for release in 2026, with a playable demo coming in February. The developers also plan to release the game on consoles after the PC version.

Story
Okay, so I’ve heard about this place called Talesford – it’s an island totally steeped in myth and legend. Apparently, it’s where these ancient, powerful beings live, including this god-like figure called The Dreamer. Every century, they hold this massive competition called The Trial of the Ancients. The best warriors from each of the four nations in Xylera are invited to compete, and it’s seriously tough. If you manage to win and prove yourself worthy, The Dreamer will grant you any wish. Seriously, anything! It’s the ultimate high-stakes challenge, and I’m hoping to be one of the contestants!
The Trial of Nightmare
This year’s competition will be different from anything the fighters have experienced before. As eight competitors risk everything they’ve worked for, a mysterious force called The Shadow appears and dramatically alters the rules, turning their fears into a terrifying reality.
