Tell Me Lies Season 3 Character Ages: How Old Lucy, Bree, Stephen & More Are In Both Timelines

The Hulu series Tell Me Lies cleverly revealed the ages of its main characters – Lucy, Stephen, Evan, Bree, and others – as the story jumped between two different time periods. Now heading into its third season, the show promises to unravel the shocking ending of Season 2, which could dramatically alter the relationships between the characters. Throughout the series, Tell Me Lies follows these characters over roughly eight years, from their college days through their mid-20s, culminating in a wedding.

Based on Carola Lovering’s novel, the show Tell Me Lies revealed the characters’ ages starting in its first season. More ages were revealed throughout the second season through conversations and mentions of their time at Baird College. Season 3 premiered on Hulu on January 13, 2025.

The show Tell Me Lies uses flashbacks and flash forwards, jumping ahead to the year 2015, which is seven years after the main events begin. Stephen DeMarco

In the series Tell Me Lies, Stephen DeMarco is Lucy’s main love interest, though he exhibits concerning behaviors like manipulation and a lack of empathy.

So, we meet Stephen as a 21-year-old junior at Baird College. He’s a bit older than Lucy in the 2008 scenes, and honestly, it shows. Being an upperclassman, he definitely knows how to work the social circles, and he’s not afraid to use that to get what he wants. He’s a manipulator, plain and simple – always pulling strings behind the scenes.

By 2015, Stephen is probably around 28 years old, seven years after the events we previously saw. Surprisingly, he’s engaged to Lydia – Lucy’s old best friend who used to really dislike him.

Bree Buchanan

Lucy’s roommate and best friend, Bree, is a college freshman who was initially presented as a double of Lucy in the first season. However, the second season of Tell Me Lies revealed that Bree was 19 years old. Based on her established age in Season 2, she’s probably around 26 years old in 2015, when she’s preparing to marry her boyfriend, Evan.

Pippa

Pippa is one of Lucy and Bree’s closest friends in the series Tell Me Lies. When the show begins, she’s probably around 18 years old, as she’s a freshman in college – about the same age as Lucy.

Around 2015, Pippa was likely between 25 and 26 years old, depending on when Bree’s wedding took place. The end of Season 2 revealed that she’s dating Diana, which came as a surprise considering her previous relationship with Stephen.

Mike Wrigley

In the series Tell Me Lies, Mike Wrigley – known to friends as Wrigley – is introduced as a popular football player and close friend of Stephen and Evan. A serious injury ended his football career, and also led to his brother, Drew, leaving the show.

Knowing Stephen and being close to him, I’d guess Wrigley is probably 21 during the 2008 scenes – he seems to be around the same age as everyone else. If we jump ahead to Bree and Evan’s wedding in 2015, he’d likely be around 28 or 29, which feels right.

Diana

In the 2008 season of Tell Me Lies, Diana has a complicated, on-and-off relationship with Stephen. She’s a law student, and like Stephen, is a junior or senior in college—likely between 20 and 21 years old. Some viewers even think she might be a year older than him, making her 22.

Season 2 of Tell Me Lies revealed that she is in a relationship with a woman named Pippa. Considering the show jumps ahead seven years, she would likely be between 27 and 29 years old at Bree and Evan’s wedding.

Evan
