The Straw Hat Pirates are fan favorites in One Piece, all united by Luffy’s dream to become the Pirate King. As they pursue their individual goals, they also become Luffy’s closest and most reliable companions. Through all the challenges and triumphs of their journey, the crew’s relationships deepen and strengthen. Their years together, weathering every storm, have created a truly special bond.
Every member of the crew brings unique strengths to the team, and certain friendships really resonate with fans. Characters like Brook and Jinbe are naturally friendly with everyone, but others tend to form tighter bonds within smaller groups.
10) Usopp and Franky Are The Most Creative Duo

Usopp and Franky initially clash, but quickly bond over their love of inventing things. Before Franky joined the crew, Usopp was responsible for maintaining the ship and cleverly crafting useful tools and weapons. Now, they often collaborate, with Franky taking the lead on more unusual creations, and Usopp readily assisting.
9) Robin Never Fails to Scare Usopp With Her Dark Humor

I absolutely love Robin’s dark sense of humor! It’s such a running gag that she always jumps to the most terrible conclusions about what’s happened to her friends, and she delivers it all with this cool, casual vibe. But honestly, it wouldn’t be the same without Usopp! His reactions are priceless – he totally can’t hide how terrified her jokes make him. They’re seriously one of the most underrated pairs in the show, and their back-and-forth is just genuinely hilarious to watch.
8) Robin Always Understands Luffy

The Straw Hat crew all understand Luffy well, but Robin seems to have a particularly deep understanding of what he’s thinking. As the crew’s most intelligent member, Luffy often relies on her for insights, and she always knows how to respond. A clear example of this was when Luffy first learned about his father, Monkey D. Dragon – he turned to Robin for explanation, even though Garp could have provided the same information.
7) The Scaredy Cat Trio Somehow Manage to Get The Job Done

Sailing the Grand Line is incredibly dangerous, and many pirates find it overwhelming. Nami, Chopper, and Usopp are no exception – they’re usually the first to panic when trouble strikes. While their fear often provides comic relief, it’s also inspiring to see them push through it and do their best, even when facing difficult situations.
6) Usopp Is Often Considered Luffy’s Best Friend

Luffy doesn’t seem to play favorites among his crew, but he always teams up with Usopp when he wants to have fun. They have a playful relationship filled with arguments, reconciliations, and lots of laughs. Both Luffy and Usopp are particularly interested in visiting Elbaph, a place the rest of the crew isn’t very enthusiastic about. Although Usopp is often overlooked, fans really value the strong connection he shares with Luffy.
5) Luffy Is Incomplete Without His Wings

Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji are one of the most famous teams in anime and manga. Known as the Monster Trio, they’re the strongest fighters in Luffy’s crew and always have each other’s backs. Luffy can’t become Pirate King without a strong team, and Zoro and Sanji are essential to his journey. When these three fight together, it’s incredibly difficult for their opponents to win.
4) Robin Is Nami’s Only Support

Besides Nami, Robin is the only other female member of the crew, making their bond particularly strong. Nami has always been drawn to girls, so she quickly became friends with Robin after the archaeologist joined. They enjoy spending time together, often shopping and sharing typical best friend activities. Nami, being younger, greatly admires Robin. Despite her own fears, Nami would do anything to keep Robin safe from harm.
3) Zoro Always Has Chopper’s Back

Despite his tough exterior, Zoro cares deeply for his crewmates, though he doesn’t always show it. He seems to have a particularly close bond with Chopper, the ship’s doctor, and fans love their sweet interactions – like when Chopper rests on Zoro’s head or shoulder. Since joining the crew, Chopper has learned a lot from Zoro about what it means to be a pirate and a strong person.
2) Robin Is Always Caring About Chopper

Robin instantly fell in love with Chopper’s cuteness and tried to become his friend, though he was hesitant at first. They quickly became close, just like everyone else. Robin often playfully teased him, always had his favorite cotton candy ready to brighten his day, and enjoyed spending time with him – whether it was taking baths together or just being near him.
1) Zoro and Sanji’s Rivalry Will Always Be Hilarious

When it comes to great pairs in One Piece, Zoro and Sanji are unmatched. They’re constantly arguing and turning everything into a competition due to their differing personalities. Despite all the bickering, they work incredibly well together and deeply trust each other’s skills when it matters most. They may be rivals, but Zoro and Sanji consistently prove they’re the best possible support for Luffy on his adventure.
