I’m so excited! The Apprentice is coming back for its 20th season later this month on BBC One, and that means Lord Sugar’s boardroom is open for business again. I can’t wait to see what happens!
The new season will premiere on BBC One and iPlayer on Thursday, January 29th at 9pm. Immediately after, at 10:05pm, BBC Two will air The Apprentice: Unfinished Business.
Now that Tom Allen has left You’re Fired, the BBC is launching a new companion show with Angela Scanlon as the host. Each week, viewers can tune in to BBC Two to hear Angela chat with business experts, celebrity fans, and the candidates who were eliminated from the show – getting their first reactions and insights.
After recently facing Lord Sugar as a contestant, Angela Scanlon says she’s never appreciated or enjoyed the show more!
I’m thrilled to be joining The Apprentice for its 20th season! I’m really looking forward to getting involved, chatting with the contestants and viewers each week, and breaking down all the excitement – hopefully learning a few business lessons along the way.
Tom Allen announced today, January 14th, that he is leaving his role as host of the companion series, sharing the news in a personal Instagram post.
After six years, I’ve decided to leave The Apprentice: You’re Fired,” he announced. “It’s been a joy working with such a talented team to create the show. (I was also starting to worry Lord Sugar would discover my lack of business knowledge – as you can see in the video!).

He expressed his gratitude to Lord Sugar, Karren Brady, and Tim Campbell for their consistent support and encouragement throughout the process. He also thanked all the candidates and guest judges who appeared on the show.
Lord Sugar will again be joined by Claude Littner and Karren Brady as they oversee the candidates’ progress in the latest series.
I was a little surprised to see Campbell missing from the last two episodes of Celebrity Apprentice – apparently, the filming schedule just didn’t line up for him. They brought in Mike Soutar as a temporary replacement, but thankfully Campbell’s back now and will be with us for the rest of the season!
This season, the popular business show kicks off with a first-ever location change – the initial boardroom meeting will be held in Hong Kong. The candidates are all competing to win the chance to become Lord Sugar’s next business partner.
