The point-and-click adventure game Earth Must Die is coming to PC through Steam on January 27th, according to publisher No More Robots and developer Size Five. A demo is available to play right now.
Here is an overview of the game, via No More Robots:
About
From the desk of VValak Lizardtongue, Grand Shepherd of the Tyrythian Empire:
Well this is just complete and utter bullshit.
Do those clueless Terrans really think they can just invade my kingdom of Tyryth? This kingdom that I practically built with my own two hands – though, okay, my father did leave me a little something to start with… a very dead ‘little something’.
Did I mention that this is bullshit?
Honestly, they have no idea what’s coming. I’m going to destroy them. With the help of Milky, my longtime robotic assistant—don’t even ask about her origin—I’ll fly to Earth, reduce it to ruins, and still be home in time for a bedtime glass of milk.
Earth Must Die recounts my journey to power – beginning with inheriting the throne after my father’s death, then my unexpected defeat by the people of Earth, and finally, my quest for retribution against Earth and its values.
The story is being reimagined as a classic point-and-click adventure game, similar to those popular in the 1990s, but set in the year 2025. Honestly, it doesn’t sound very promising, but then again, I’m just a universally loved and respected—and admittedly intimidating—leader of worlds, so what’s my opinion worth?
I don’t really understand what people mean by “British comedy royalty,” but it seems they hired a group of comedians – frankly, some rather crude ones – to redub my film for the Terranoids, essentially giving them something ridiculous to watch. I’ll just paste the list of names here to avoid wasting any more of my time on them:
- Joel Fry – Vvalak Lizardtongue
- Martha Howe-Douglas – Milky
- Alex Horne – Major Haskit, Bentik
- Ben Starr – Krall, Danzan
- Tamsin Greig – Rena, Blorr, Spiffy
- Matthew Holness – Phelonius Skwid
- Mike Wozniak – Willip, Jobson, Druce
- Don Warrington – Quintarian
- Stevie Martin – Skwidbot
- Sophie Duker – Meebap
- Emma Fryer – Parrach, Betsy
- Alasdair Beckett-King – Oogles, Toilet, Vacuum, Village Elder
- Rosie Holt – Chizz, Zarlaph, Karton
- Jon Blyth – Fnaaaarglurp, Olkus
- Julie Nolke – Grace Flufton
- Sam O’Leary – Ian Gard, Ripper
- Tom Lawrinson – Tree, Needledick
- Sally Beaumont – Glushh, Big Snake
- David Monteith – Allus, Pfysus, Marvap, Altican, Commandant
- Inel Tomlinson – Cecil, Zertan, Robert Droid, Skwid Guards
- Theo Leslie – Dinny
I wish someone else could handle this, but it seems my story is really long and involves a lot of clicking through different parts. Honestly, I’m not interested in the details – I just want the recognition.
You can play my game through a platform called “Steam,” which I understand is how people access games in 2025. It seems a bit old-fashioned, but I suppose every new technology has humble beginnings.
