Tom Hardy’s highly anticipated return in MobLand season 2 is coming sooner than expected.

After a strong debut in spring 2025, Paramount+ is bringing back Guy Ritchie’s gritty crime drama, MobLand, for a second season. The show was renewed in June 2025, but updates have been scarce – until now. The streaming service has recently announced when viewers can expect the return of the Harrigan family.

A new ad for Paramount+, featuring Helen Mirren, previews shows coming in 2026. The ad, released before the trailer for Kevin Costner’s series The Gray House (as reported by Deadline), confirms that MobLand will return for a second season in 2026 as one of Paramount+’s popular returning series.

Paramount+ is building excitement for 2026 with a mix of new and returning shows. Fans can look forward to two spin-offs of Yellowstone – The Madison and a sequel focusing on Beth and Rip from Dutton Ranch – plus fresh seasons of Survivor, Dexter: Resurrection, and Star Trek: Starfleet Academy. Helen Mirren wraps up a promotional video by promising that 2026 will be “the biggest year yet.”

The upcoming second season of MobLand, scheduled for 2026, demonstrates Paramount+’s commitment to consistently releasing new seasons of its streaming series each year. Many viewers have been frustrated by the long waits between seasons of popular streaming shows. For example, Netflix took three years to release a new season of Stranger Things, while both HBO’s House of the Dragon and Prime Video’s The Boys have consistently had two-year gaps between seasons.

Recently, Paramount+ has started to reverse a trend of shows being cancelled after one season, thanks to the success of titles like Landman and Dexter: Resurrection. Now, MobLand is also proving to be a hit. Although MobLand is aiming for a quick return with a planned 2026 release, Paramount+ hasn’t yet announced when season two will be available to stream this year.

Production on MobLand season 2 is ongoing, meaning fans likely won’t see the new episodes until late this year. Photos from the set in December 2025 showed Helen Mirren and Pierce Brosnan will be back as the heads of the Harrigan crime family, following an earlier announcement about the cast – including who’s returning and who’s new.

Several familiar faces are returning for the next season, including Tom Hardy, Pierce Brosnan, Helen Mirren, Paddy Considine, Joanne Froggatt, Toby Jones, and Lara Pulver. Joining the cast as series regulars are Johnny Flynn and Ophelia Lovibond, though details about their characters haven’t been revealed yet.
