Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves Season 2 Announced, Promises 12 Characters in One Year

Following its win for Best Fighting Game at The Game Awards, SNK is continuing the momentum with Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves. Season 2 begins this month, and according to a recent report (originally from Game*Spark, as noted by Resetera), it will add twelve new playable characters. The first of these, Kim Jae Hoon, will be available on January 22nd.

February will bring Nightmare Geese, then Blue Mary in March and Wolfgang Krauser in April. The characters for May and June are currently unannounced mysteries.

Shinya Tamaki, a senior game designer and producer, explained the decision to release a new character each month. He said that after launching the first new game in over 26 years, players were eager to see more characters. While the original plan was to add characters every two months, the team improved their development process, allowing them to increase the release pace. They hope to maintain this monthly schedule going forward.

SNK aims to add at least 12 new playable characters to the game by 2026, though release dates could shift. This ambitious plan allows for a wide variety of characters to be included. Recently, they hinted at the possibility of Kenshiro from Fist of the North Star joining the game, but if he’s planned for the second season pass, it likely won’t be for a while.

He might be a free character to play – and he wouldn’t be the first if he were. We’ll have to wait for an official announcement from the game developer for more details, so keep an eye out for that soon.
