Be warned: The following contains significant spoilers for the EastEnders episode that aired on January 15th, 2026. You can currently watch it on BBC iPlayer.
After years of speculation, EastEnders has at last solved the mystery of Dr. Anthony Trueman‘s death, revealing who killed him on Christmas Day in 2025.
The BBC soap opera is still exploring the circumstances surrounding Anthony’s death. He was initially hit by Zoe Slater on Christmas Day while she was defending herself, but the show is investigating how he received a second, fatal head injury.
It was awful. When I came to, Anthony was gone, and I just… I instantly thought I must have done something to him. It was terrifying, and I knew I had to tell the police, so I turned myself in.
Following further questioning, Zoe was accused of murder and kept in custody. However, Zoe’s mother, Kat Moon, and her daughter, Jasmine Fisher, began to believe that Zoe’s former rival, Chrissie Watts, was the real killer. Chrissie had briefly returned to Walford on Christmas Day to harass Zoe and had previously mentored Jasmine in stalking her.
After the events unfolded, Kat traveled to Greece, determined to find Chrissie and stop her from trying to make it look like Zoe committed murder.
Things haven’t exactly calmed down in Walford even with Kat away. I was surprised to see Jean Slater leaving – Gillian Wright is always fantastic, and it’s a shame to see her go, even for a bit. Apparently, the whole family took Jasmine’s side in a pretty messy situation, with some serious accusations flying around about her being…well, let’s just say not very nice. It’s created a real rift, and it’ll be interesting to see how it plays out when Kat returns.

On Wednesday, Lily Slater was very upset with how Jasmine watched her little sister, Charli. The argument became so heated that Jasmine nearly became physical, but her grandfather, Patrick Trueman, who is still mourning the loss of his son Anthony, managed to intervene and stop her.
When Jasmine was invited to spend the night at the Trueman house and then asked to join Patrick and his wife, Yolande, to view Anthony’s coffin, she became distraught and spent the entire night drinking.
Okay, so Jasmine’s return was classic Slater – she rolled up on a milk float Thursday morning right into a whole mess of drama. She immediately clashed with Yolande and her boyfriend, Oscar. Then, things got really intense when Chelsea Fox cornered her in the park. Chelsea didn’t hold back, basically telling Jasmine she needed to think about others for once. But the biggest bombshell? Chelsea revealed Anthony isn’t the perfect guy Jasmine thinks he is, hinting at a quick temper and some serious family problems. It was a pretty brutal reality check for Jasmine, honestly.
Determined to talk to Patrick, he revealed Anthony’s troubled marriage and his strong feelings for Zoe. Upset that Anthony had kept these things secret, Jasmine stormed out and went to Kathy’s Cafe.
Patrick quickly went to look for her and shared that she had expressed a desire to find some peace by visiting their son at the funeral home, Coker’s.
Jasmine spent some time reflecting, then went to pay her respects at Anthony’s funeral, where she met up with Patrick, Yolande, and their daughters, Denise and Kim.

After everyone said goodbye to Anthony, they left Jasmine alone with him. It was then, in a shocking turn of events, that Jasmine killed him.
Jasmine told her father she wasn’t sorry anymore, now that she understood what he was really like. She showed him a video from Christmas Day, where she confronted him while he was arguing with Zoe. She’d warned him she was recording, and then he attacked her.
As we overheard a struggle, we then heard Jasmine strike Anthony over the head with a hard object.
Jasmine spoke to her father’s body, saying, “I stopped you from killing her. It’s good to finally meet you, Dad. Now, may you rest in hell.”
Okay, so Jasmine’s really embraced her villainous side, and honestly, it’s fascinating! But I’m on the edge of my seat wondering if she’ll actually let Zoe take the fall for what she did. It’s a total cliffhanger!
Next week, Jasmine tries to flee Walford with Oscar, but will she get away?
