Last year, Ed Annunziata, the creator of Ecco the Dolphin, shared his intention to update the first two games for the Sega Genesis and also develop a brand new Ecco game.
A new website recently went live, announcing that more Ecco the Dolphin games and merchandise are currently being made. A studio in California called A&R Atelier is developing these new products with permission from SEGA, who owns the Ecco the Dolphin series.
Annunziata said in a press release:
After years of work, we’re thrilled to reintroduce Ecco. Ecco isn’t just a game featuring a dolphin; it’s a story that connects different realms.
We don’t have any details yet about what the studio is planning, but they’ll likely share more information on the game’s official website. You can find a link to the website here.
